Met 2017 Season thread

It's May and the Mets are approaching irrelevance.

Another reliever will get hurt soon as they are setting records for games pitched.
Smart money is on Robles, he pitches every day. Collins went to ty he Bobby V Bullpen Academy. And can the starters keep it under 20 pitches per inning?

I am pretty sure Robles is hurt already. He rarely throws as hard as he did in the past.

No reason Harvey should have pitched the 6th tonight unless Collins hates Matt Harvey as much as I do.

was thinking the same thing. He had thrown a lot of pitches

How about Collins takes him out after the 2 run homer? Leaves him in and bang, another homer. Ugh.

Collins commented that he thought Harvey could get past the 7th, 8th and 9th hitters - WRONG!
BTW, has anyone ever heard of these guys on the Brewers roster?

My favorite is Jett Bandy the catcher. Somehow he catches Jay Bruce sleeping on 2nd base and picks him off from the catcher box. Travis D'Arnaud when he plays can't reach 2nd base. Jett was drafted in the 31st round by the LAA.

By the way, I hear tonight is "Star Wars" night in Milwaukee. Jett is a great name for that promotion. Knowing its the Mets, my guess is this guy has a big night tonight. Hope not, but that is the way things are going.

Who would have thought the Mets would have one of the absolute worst pitching staffs in baseball?

And if they hit like this without Cespedes last year they might have won the division. Once DeGrom came out of the game I felt pretty sure they would lose. Teams like the Braves and Marlins that look good against us can't beat anyone else. I know everyone wants to fire Collins and of course he needs to go but it's time to clean house Alderson on down. Only wish the team would be sold.

They have the worst era in the National League which will only get bigger after today's debacle. Poor DeGrom.

The Mets have managed to ruin every one of their 5 potential number one pitchers by not teaching them how to pitch. The hell with the asinine speed gun, Seaver, Gibson, Koufax, etc. could dial it up but they were pitchers who knew how to get people out, who knew the importance of strike one, knew how to put hitters away. The Mets don't have a starter who can go 7 innings and then Collins comes out the other day and says he thinks pitchers are getting hurt because they throw too much INBETWEEN games. As you said, a joke of an organization, from the Wilton's, Alderson, Collins, Warthen - who must have pictures of one of the Wilpons somewhere, on down. A disgrace that the Mets have one starter with an ERA under 4 and he is out forever after yet another debacle of an injury situation. The only people happy with the way the Mets do things are the doctors.

Conforto with his Mom. Not bad genetics.
If he juices and then ends up with gynecomastia, at least we know that they will look pretty good.

Anybody remember Duda's bad throw home in the World Series? Well there he goes again, terrible wide throw allowing Goldschmidt to score. And we lost by one run. At least after the game he admitted he has been terrible this past week.
Anybody notice how we take fastball's down the middle and swing at bounced balls? Don't like Conforto's swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.
Anybody wonder why players such as Tomas keep hitting against us? His career average against us -.366, 6 homeruns, and 14 rbi. Maybe some where down the road Viola replaces Warthen.
Going to tomorrows game, probably wear my Happy Harvey Day Shirt. If we get blown out I might have to switch to my D'back hat.

Well the weather was great yesterday at Chase Field. Harvey showed improvement, not great but I thought better. Threw alot of sliders, fastballs mostly around 95. As soon as Montero entered I told my friends get ready to go home.
Boy, he stinks. Almost double the hits to his innings I was hoping Collins would have given Ramirez, just off waivers, a chance.
