That may be why people don't bring him up, plus two years back when guys were here 3 or 4 years. He was highly heralded and I found him to be a big disappointment
I was about to ask who Dupre was lol as it didn't hit me right away you meant Joe.The heart wants what it wants.

You mean Jumping Joe!I was about to ask who Dupre was lol as it didn't hit me right away you meant Joe.

Didn't love: Ricky Torres
Recinded Gary Payton's scholarship to sign Broadnax. Now THAT'S overrated.Marcus Broadnax.
I'm blaming spell check.I was about to ask who Dupre was lol as it didn't hit me right away you meant Joe.
Yes, liked Billy. Very good here.I'm surprised how little love Billy Goodwin is getting. Sports Illustrated cover after winning Big East Tournament. 14 points five rebounds and four assists a game (I looked it up). I'd take those numbers anytime.
And his teammate Elander LewisMarcus Broadnax.
didn't Goodwin (Who I loved) have a guy on his team with the last name Washington? Maybe misremembering.I'm surprised how little love Billy Goodwin is getting. I think we had a Larry Washington, but can't remember if we part of one of Goodwin's teams.didn't Goodwin (Who I loved) have a guy on his team with the last name Washington? Maybe misremembering.
1st time in redmen.com/redfan history the word "interregnum" has ever been used !!You've been a St. John's fan for too long (as have I). We're used to losing. It's time to get used to winning.
There's a new Sheriff in town and CRP is telling this team to win out!
You are from a different generation than me and a few others of the elders on the site. We were always used to winning, sometimes an NIT title (when it still meant something) and sometimes a second-round NCAA win or a regional final (even a Final Four, which remains hard as shit to do). We were NEVER EVER used to losing. The last 30+ years have been an interregnum for me, and I am so happy I lived long enough to see the end of it.
Good post. However, I think historically we suffered far more March failures than success. Coach Carnesecca was 17-20 in the ncaa tournament, 13-19 if you remove 1985. That's what it's felt like, an interregnum, pure shit, a downer, whatever. I'll try come up with more words for everyone's edification1st time in redmen.com/redfan history the word "interregnum" has ever been used !!
Redfan Mount Rushmore word use territory
I gotcha, but we were always over .500 and playing for something, March failures notwithstanding.Good post. However, I think historically we suffered far more March failures than success. Coach Carnesecca was 17-20 in the ncaa tournament, 13-19 if you remove 1985. (Lou was 10-7 in the NIT)
For this reason, what our fans really need is a Sweet 16 (3 wins) or better team this year to really convince fans that this isn't smoke and mirrors.
This has been a fantastic season thus far, but let's not revise our history to think that great seasons were anything more than few and far between.
Ansolutely from the time I started following us in 1964-65 until the Mahoney years we were always winning program and a pretty darn good one.I gotcha, but we were always over .500 and playing for something, March failures notwithstanding.
It was always more good than bad, which is not what we've been dealing with for so long.
