Max Hooper

Another point of interest. Max Hooper is the son of Chip Hooper. From what I've heard, and i could be wrong, but it is the same Chip Hooper former Mega music agent now Music Mogul and Worldwide talent director for Paradigm Agency. In a nutshell, one of the most powerful and influential people in the music industry bar-none. He could be a tremendous booster to SJU. A good person to have on our side if my info is correct.

Should be a valuable asset in getting Marco Bourgault's gangsta rap career off the ground.

Welcome, Max. Glad to have you here in the Mecca of college basketball. Only regret is we can't have you until next season. See if you don't have a sick relative living in NY! ;)

Yeah, He's the Ari Gold of the music industry. I do believe it's the same guy.

Branch penetrates, dishes to DLO, MARCO, OR MAX... SWISH!!! have a feeling will be hearing that a lot in the upcoming years! FEELS GOOD TO HAVE WEAPONS

Just a question. I see that Hooper is listed here under the 2012 recruit section. I thought as a transfer he would not be eligible until the fall of 2013. Could someone clarify this. Is there a belief he would be eligible to play in 2012 and if so why?

He will be eligible to play in 2013.. I believe he is listed in 2012 because his ship counts in this class. I could be wrong.. but i believe thats how it is done usually.

Thanks

It's good to have shooters at the end of the bench. He'll be a good practice player on the scout team. We need to work on closing out shooters.

Hey, you never know, he could wind up having a positive impact like some NY city players who go unrecruited by any major D1 schools but find their niche and success elsewhere.

Yeah, you never know but realistically if Max Hooper is getting more than garbage-time minutes, and the rare situational insertion into games, we're in big trouble. Whose minutes is he going to take?

He's not going to be used as a defensive stopper. He'll be used on the offensive side of the ball when we need a shooter or two on the court. Zones can cover some defensive deficiencies. There's no harm in using a scholarship in the lower half of our roster on kids with a bit more specialized roles. He's not going to be a starter nor full-time player. He certainly is quick enough to guard people, depending on the matchup. He's a really good offensive player though. We can't fill all 13 spots with mega-athletes. Some guys like Hooper to help with shooting can really change the way teams defend us.
