Havnt made it through this whole thread yet but I am flabbergasted that Larry Wright has not made the Wusu/Geno comparison yet. Headband + high socks.

We didn't have Belo on the floor last night and we still lost badly. This program is a mess!

Read through entire thread and very disheartened.

Players walking out of practice. Faces on the players in CMA's huddle = muddled.

"Don't mic Mike comment" endorsed here.

On to Providence and try to salve the wound with an unexpected "W"!

This team gets back-doored so much you would think it was the Greek national team.
How they play defense and offense is instilled in practice and CMA had the fortune of having true D1 players last season in Wheeler and Champ.
This team lacks talent at every position but center. Go figure! The first time in years we have a true 5 everyone else is mediocre.

Was at the game. Half empty arena. Half hearted effort on D. Played Half a game. Half-Half-Half...

Was at the Game last night...
- Vibe was different (chalk most of it up to break and lack of most students... sadly i don't think they'll be much to root for when they return)
- Absolutely WILD lineups to start the game - Drissa?!?! - actually made a bucket or two before he threw 2 straight possessions away lol
- Even when we were up 8 and leading the first half...wasn't much buzz in the crowd... its like we knew or were waiting for what was coming...
- The Marq run was just sad... guys looked lost...crowd didn't help them much...
- There were very clear "We Are... Marquette" chants at the end.... i expect that at MSG... not CA... :(

I have tickets to a couple more games this year... but that was a depressing experience. Feel bad for the players... was trying to think of what has changed?

I was not a vocal critic of the schedule... but i think this is what happens when you schedule so poor (i know... im truly enlightened lol). We are able to beat lesser athletes by out-hustling them... but as soon as you raise the skill level of the opponent, you see your flaws. We only got to see that once vs Iowa St.... need to have atleast 3 top level competition in the OOC to see what works vs the Good teams.

I know, too late to do anything about that now... sad state of affairs in Queens

I was at the game too. Agree with everything you say except that I thought the crowd was into it, especially in the first half and when we were making our too little too late usual comeback late in the game. And that Marquette chant at the end was really infuriating, especially at CA.

Think the first half “addition by subtraction” might have been a little premature. Posh hit two 3’s he had been getting and missing all year. Nothing else from him looked any different. Our defense certainly didn’t look any better without Curbelo.

Something Storr can’t do on his own: run plays for himself.

Something Storr can do on his own: mix it up in the paint and get back on defense.

the 'we are marquette' chant was clearly audible on tv.

very disappointing.

Posh had a real quick trigger on his first two 3s... almost an "Idgaf" attitude... liked it... sometimes players gotta keep playing how they want to play... shoot yourself out of the slump..

The next two 3s however... lol.... were Kobe-esque... but a complete brick and airball...

Lol and those last two had that same attitude as the first 2. I’ve been an advocate of him taking the occasional 3 to keep the D honest. I don’t know if I want him with a quick trigger from distance. Actually I do know that I don’t want that lol

Does anybody want a do-over on their pre-season predictions, including the coaches that picked us to finish 6th? I don't recall anyone picking us to fight with Depaul and Georgetown for the bottom spots.

Many of us did not see the upgrade in talent as compared to last year. And many of us from the get go saw the Posh Curbelo tandem as an issue. However, the problem is, on this site, if you say what you truly believe without sugar coating it, you are subject to multiple attacks. And while many did point out that unless Anderson tightened up the defense (which was rated somewhere in the 300 plus range among D1teams) the team would fail no matter what the offensive output was, most were afraid to state that for fear of being labeled a “troll”.
