College basketball is so pathetic. Lose a few games and kids leave. Good riddance
That is the system that has been allowed to evolve. Plus the way these kids are brought along their whole lives, any adversity (or any carrot) will lead some to pick up and go somewhere else.

I know Curbello was benched for disciplinary reasons. But unless I'm mistaken, it didn't even appear that he was at the game?

Can you blame them for wanting to leave. The team has no structure and the coach has no idea how to get this team to play together.
I want the team to play well and win. I thought Anderson could do it. But I was wrong. The way this team losses a game in 2 minutes is crazy! Never seen a team lose like this one. The run comes and it’s over.

The record is what it is, but the team is imploding internally. They do not appear to like playing for one another or their coach much.

No way can Anderson survive that.

Defense, defense defense.

It's transition defense, it's perimeter defense, it's confusion, it's laziness, it's not getting back, it's getting back-doored.

It's becoming unwatchable.
What happened to the defense? Are they just tuning Anderson out

Is anyone really surprised that Curbelo is a discipline issue? Did he not pick up his first technical foul within minutes of the opening game? The kid has attitude written all over him literally. Sometimes a kid like that is good for a team, provides a spark, but that would be with a coach with a disciplined system and a strong coaching personality.

Let’s not forget that maintaining discipline has been an issue for the Anderson staff in the past during the “Moore” season where there was credible information that such issues contributed to the multitude of transfers.

Although full court pressure speeds up the game and allows for easy baskets via turnovers, our half court defense is horrible. That's not new. The half court defense was horrible last year also. The full court pressure is being easily beaten and teams are getting and making easy 3 point shots.

In the half court Posh and Curbelo cheat off thei man too much. When they make a steal everyone ooh's an ahh's at the play. But when they don't it opens up the court for an easy basket. Neither Posh or Curbelo is good at guarding their man straight up and staying in front of them. Posh is too slow and Curbelo is too much of a hotdog.

The best half court defenders as far guarding a man stright up are Mathis and Wusu. But Wusu is horrible at keeping track of his man and is extremely suceptible to back door plays.

Jones has the athleticism to be a good defender, but in the half court he is not. He has the same problems that Wusu has but to a lesser degree.

Soriano's defense is poor. I love his improvements on offense and his rebounding numbers, but he cannot guard.

Stanley is all effort, but he gets beaten and is out of position often.

Storr will eventually be a good offensive player, but he is slow and his defense is poor.

Ergo....Our team is poor defensively overall, but pathetic in its half court defense.
