They played with intensity, intelligence and purpose for 40 minutes - and have more talent and athleticism. i am a die hard and will continue to show up but think we may have too many guys who are already at their ceiling to give any hope that there will be a turnaround. Hope to be wrong.

“Our defense was terrible”- Mike Anderson

Even bad teams with weak rosters can play good defense. In other words, defense can be “coached” up. I find his comment as a self indictment. In year 4 of his Program we gave up 96 points …AT HOME. That is after giving up 88 points to a pedestrian Seton Hall squad.

The style of basketball is NOT working. We are a disorganized mess. Another long and disheartening season is on the way…again.

Here's my assessment of this team at this point. We are the 3rd least talented team, and either the 9th or 10th worst coached team in the big east. Unfortunately that likely means a 10th place +/- finish in conference. Thank God for Georgetown.

Don't have the want to read through the thread, anyone comment on Nyiwe's Vaseline hands? Good grief!
They can't play half court offense, or defense, it's time to start pressing again, use your bench and push, push, push, what's to lose at this point?

Over the last two games, the Johnnies have been outscored in the second half 101-66.

In the last three games we have given up 84 pts, 88 pts and 96 pts respectively.

Even Robert Morris, in the infamous NIT game (one of the worst SJU games of all time) was held under 90 pts (89 pts).

My take aways, similar to what others said:
• too many back cuts allowed. Wusu and Jones particularly weak in that regard
•inexplicably got away from posh and Soriano in second half. Posh looked like his old self, but only in first half. Soriano is a beast even in BE play.
•team looks nothing like teams of last 3 years where at least we could be mediocre with some notable victories/upsets.
•without curbelo, we have no other ball handler besides posh. Wusu is trusted too much in that role. That said, wusu had a monster game tonight.
•no defense, period. Lose focus far too often.
•there is little offensive contribution available from PF of Stanley, nywie and even traore now.
•they have to integrate storr into valuable minutes the rest of the season.
The D issue is so simple to fix. No guards helping out on a post up in the paint. The potential steal isn't worth the open 3.
