Keep thinking how different things would be at this point if they would have won say two of those close games

Other than the Seton Hall game there was an opportunity to win the others
Definitely a chance to change the narrative in the first U Conn, Creighton and Marquette games. Would have beaten my expectations and confirmed some others'. On a knife's edge, absolutely.

This team is horribly overdue to win one game that they shouldn’t. I just decided to check the kenpom “luck” ranking and right now sju is 302 in the country in luck. Which basically means we should have more wins based on how good our offense/defense play. Hopefully that starts turning around now
I'm nervous that our "luck" was being in those three tough games until the last minute

It's odd, I'm not disappointed at all. But maybe that's because I had no expectation of the program being a top-25 team overnight. I suppose it's all about the expectations game.

As for the second point, considering that Pitino brought in every player on the roster except for two he chose to keep, if you're disappointed with the players then by definition you are disappointed with Pitino. You don't blame the groceries for the shopper who chose them. That's why you thump melons before you buy them.
All good points . But , I think RP thought he had 2 impact players in Ledlum and Dingle . They are good additions to our lineup but , no one would call them impact .

A lot of the best teams reach down into some lower programs and pluck off a stud

Knecht at Tennessee , Schierman at Creighton , Kolek came from somewhere , I’m sure there are countless others whom I have missed .

Spencer at UCONN from Rutgers . Oduro from Geo Mason .

Zuby looks like he might develop into a offensive player eventually but , he’s not a impact player now . Same with Luis .

Dunlap and Wilcher weren’t expected to be impact this year .

Dingle has a chance over the rest of the season to show how good a Scorer he should be . We need him to raise his game . If he can drain 3’s or even 2’s to 18 or more points a game that will help a lot.

Your sarcasm could become a nice prediction :)
One chance is Dingle again plays well w Jenkins and gives M’Q something to think about when we have ball. Add in some timely jumpers from Alleyne too. Of course, the way M’Q spreads floor it will take intense concentration and consistent defending. Lot of ifs there 😇

Soriano needs to get Igodoro in foul trouble . Make him really work on defense . Tire him out playing both ends of the Court .

Zuby can help there too . Out hustle him for rebounds . Play tough defense and don’t foul out .

Right. So either (a) Pitino did a bad job adding two players who EVERYONE wanted; or (b) he isn't using them properly.

Either way, there's only one direction to point in.

Going to likely miss the first half of today's game. Try to get to one Davidson game a year and going with my wife and son today to see them play George Mason in late afternoon game. Nice afternoon out; bought the tickets for $14 apiece back in December, should have waited as they were going 2 for $10 yesterday!
Only other Saturday game where I missed the first half was our first win over Nova so hoping history repeats itself today lol.

Embrace your inner sarcasm. I proudly walk in the footsteps of sarcastic nitwits before me, each and everyday.

The good Lord bestowed this talent upon me (and yes, true sarcasm is a talent) and I will continue to follow that path.

As should you. 😁

Providence and Seton Hall are the games that will determine our fate, not this one. Beating #7 Marquette on the road would be fantastic but hardly to be expected and not necessary either.
True, but it looks bad.

If you take away the scrimmage vs. DePaul, if they lose tonight they would have lost 6 out of 7, that's freaking horrible. Yes I know the situation this year, with him getting a whole new roster in a short period.

You still gotta call it what it is.

Look at Providence losing their star player early and now still in hunt for a bid and have had a few upsets. You make your own luck through hard work and can’t let opportunity game losses linger in your mind. No BE team is throwing us a benefit for not closing out games or stopping losing streaks.

Everyone ? Well , Rick Barnes got Ledlum after RP wined and dined him .Tennessee is loaded with talent and it’s likely Ledlum wasn’t going to get much PT there .
The Vols had plenty of time to see Ledlum in the summer and saw what we know , Ledlum is a nice player , undersized for the SEC , BE and not quick of foot . A good player but , not a impact player at this level . That’s not a demerit on Rick .

Ledlum saw or was told he wasn’t going to play much at Knoxville and he decided to see if RP was still interested . The rest is history .

Dingle too, With his Scoring at Penn, some schools thought that would translate to similar numbers , wherever he went . So far , it’s been marginal . Another no fault on Rick . Dingle is what he is at this level .

I have said before that I think RP was relying on other sources for much of the Recruiting / Scouting that took place last year. I don’t think that will happen this year .

Additionally the School was looking at bringing in players that would fit the School’s culture and also , respond to a new Coach .

Anyone think Pitino would want Jones shooting 24 shots a game ? Not in this lifetime ! You think Jones would be reeled in and play RP’s style ? No way.

Or , Wusu slugging Student Managers ? So there was the Administration setting the table on the type of Players that RP should look to bring in .
And , that’s been a HR as far as we can tell .

Leflum and Dingle are quality persons with bright futures , in or out of BB .

I'm not going to have a lot of confidence until we can scratch and claw our way to a victory. We haven't won one of these dogfight type of games in the trenches. (closest was North Texas)

My guess is that Pitino is trying to divert pressure and the double team away from Soriano as well as motivate Dingle. This could help tremendously if success from Dingle, or any other consistent outside shooter!

Either Alleyne or Dingle must complement Jenkins scoring and hit shots, a greedy person could say both. Just rebound Joel, don’t fumble ball, make post move or pass to open guys QUICKLY
