It's amazing how many BE games come down to a swallowed whistle at the end. Providence lost for that reason today, as have we a few times.

PS I was in Memphis last week and Clark Kellogg was on my flight home. I said hello, seemed like a nice guy, chatting with people.

I had an opportunity to spend about a half an hour with Clark Kellogg once when I was at the CBS studios during the tournament. He could not have been more personable. He is extremely bright, easy to engage and very warm. He gets very high marks from me on and off the air!

Swallowed whistles happen on true home courts. Butler, Providence, Marquette, and even X have a real advantage. Refs almost won’t let them lose on their courts.

Until we stop with Carnessecca, the Garden, and Belmont Park it’s going to be very hard for us to make the tourney over teams who have a real edge with the whistles.

I realize we need the Garden for our recruiting and our Brand, but it’s just not a fair fight.
