Prediction: if we lose this game (in which we are 7.5 point underdogs, and ESPN gives us a 17% chance of winning), half the board will decide that the season is over.
If we lose this game, it further cements that we are the 4th worst team in the big east. Time for us to accept who we are until proven otherwise.

I do think it's a little over the top to say last year's kids had little character. If that was the case, it would follow them to their next stop. Matta has been effusive in his praise for Posh and his importance to their success, and whatever you may think of Storr's all around basketball ability I have heard nothing but good things about his character. I really think CMA's desperation move bringing in Curbelo torpedoed last year's season. But that's just my opinion.
A collective situation is entirely different than an individual one, just sociology 101. I think pining for last years players has reached the point of absurdity and so has my commenting. I guess what I observed in body language on court and in huddles were just aberrations or entirely the fault of Anderson and Curbelo. And the infamous “Dr. Shanley“ practice lies exclusively at their doorstep also. What do he and Pitino know?

Grab one of two v M’Q & PC Johnnies & enough w backing in formula! Show us something.

St. John’s starts a pivotal 80-minute stretch
Two games and two Quad 1 opportunities. That’s what lies ahead for the Red Storm over the next four days starting with today’s game at Marquette, which will be followed by a trip to Providence on Tuesday. Win both and Rick Pitino’s team puts itself in prime position to make the NCAA Tournament. Win one and it’s a major step in the right direction for a team that was among the “First Four Out” in Friday’s BRACKET BREAKDOWN. Remember: Three of St. John’s final five regular season games are against Georgetown and DePaul, which means there’s not going to be as many opportunities for the Red Storm to move the needle down the stretch as other teams that they’re currently competing with on the bubble. There’s no time like the present for St. John’s.”

This team is horribly overdue to win one game that they shouldn’t. I just decided to check the kenpom “luck” ranking and right now sju is 302 in the country in luck. Which basically means we should have more wins based on how good our offense/defense play. Hopefully that starts turning around now

We are 100% due for some "luck" in close games. Hoping today is the day.

I am as disappointed as anyone but my fault is not with Pitino but rather the players.

It's odd, I'm not disappointed at all. But maybe that's because I had no expectation of the program being a top-25 team overnight. I suppose it's all about the expectations game.

As for the second point, considering that Pitino brought in every player on the roster except for two he chose to keep, if you're disappointed with the players then by definition you are disappointed with Pitino. You don't blame the groceries for the shopper who chose them. That's why you thump melons before you buy them.

Keep thinking how different things would be at this point if they would have won say two of those close games

Other than the Seton Hall game there was an opportunity to win the others
