Marquette Game

DVR gents!

Agree. But I never invested in one. Figured, I could catch a replay of it like I did when we played Marquette the first time.

Doesn't your cable company offer DVR service? It doesn't cost much - $10 per month in NY for optimum, and I think $5 for DVR plus which allows you to view on any set in your house.

I have Direct TV. They do offer DVR services. I was offered it a couple years ago, but declined.

I don't like this game because we played poorly vs. Nova and Xavier with everything to gain. I just have a feeling the air is out of the balloon.

I don't particularly like this game either, considering what's at stake. It being a road game for us; "Senior Day" for Marquette; and, most importantly, a possible, NCAA bid on the line. I'm certainly not a fan of the dynamics. I'm probably thinking that way due to our play of late. This is gut check time.

But I'm a fan of the matchup, if that makes any sense. That in itself gives me hope we can pull it out. I just hope Marquette doesn't feed off the crowd and play like way over their heads. I'd like for us to jump out on them and take some air out of the team and building.

Agree. The matchup is good, the dynamics bad. 10-8 gives them some hope for a bid, but only if they play a strong BET. They could have made things a lot easier at 11-7 in conf then potentially 10-8.

We do like to put our backs really against the wall. For that reason, we lose this and try to go all out to win the BET.

Even if we do lose there's still hope to take three at the garden, novenas, pilgrammages and lots of prayers. Could happen.

Really can't believe any Johnnies fan not having a DVR. I would rather DVR the game and avoid the commercials. Usually I start watching after 30 minutes has passed. When my wife and I about to move to Virginia I had to check with Directv to make sure I could see the St.John's games. Whether you believe this or not I would not have moved out of N.Y. I love St.John's and all my friends know this, maybe it's all because of the license plate, shirts and jackets I owned.

You have to get a DVR box, just a great invention. It comes in handy for the exact situtaion you are in. Turn your cell off, and go home and watch the STJ game-- it will be like you are watching it live.

LOL

I'm very, familiar with DVR. Thanks, though! Besides, it would be impossible for me to not want to know the score of a game. Especially, with a the magnitude of the game this weekend. No way would I not try to find out the score.... DVR or not.

Lastly, I just like watching a game when it's being televised.

You get to skip the commercials for the Bed Bug exterminator that Fox Sports 1 has as its #1 sponsor as well.

IF? STJ matches up so well with Marq. this is a win.

It'll be Senior Day at the Bradley Center so the place will be loud...plus Gardner is a fat load of skill down low. Hopefully Primo & Gift can rap him in the head with a ratchet and Obekpa can swat whatever shots he does get up.

Let's also hope Mayo didn't regain any, kind of confidence after his game against Providence. If Marquette isn't hitting from the outside, then I have a good feeling about this one.

It's gonna be tough, as Marquette is having 'Senior Day;' home game, of course; and they are, like us, fighting for their NCAA lives. We're gonna come out and play ball. The loser of this game is gonna have to win the Big East Tournament, in order to get an NCAA bid. Let's make sure that kinda pressure is on "Curly Howard" and his gang.

I hate I'm going to miss this game. My son is participating in an all-star basketball tournament an hour (and change) away from our area. Kudos to him and the other kids. But the timing freakin' sucks, man.

First, I didn't realize that there were non senior citizen households that DIDN'T have DVR's nowadays, thanks for learning me something MJD.

I also wanted to add to original post that Gardner's not that big anymore. Lots better shape this year.

With their loss to Providence and poor performance this year I don't expect the atmosphere to be overwhelming. If we play anywhere near the level of basketball we played at Villanova we win going away.

In Florida I pay $17/Mo. for FX1---get hone/away St. Johns and Yankees. Corrected date for game 3/8/14. Maybe NY'rs. not eligible?

With the Xavier loss, Providence clinches the 3 seed, and xavier is locked in at the 4. Marquette/SJU are playing for the 5th seed Saturday. If St. John's wins, they are the five seed, with a loss, they are the six and maybe even the seven if Georgetown gets an unlikely win @ Nova.

I do not want to play Xavier first round...

Xavier is limping right now.

I'd love to get another crack at them.
