Marquette Game

Ohhh, crapola! I have to work a stupid boat show that day. I guess I'll DVR it. I'll probably know who wins because. I won't be able to wait. I'll keep checking this site.

It's a shame we have reached the point of making all sorts of calculations on what possible scenarios need to happen for us to get to the big dance. You have to win important games to be a contender and other than a nice win against Creighton and a must have win against G'town and Providence, it hasn't gotten done..

Weak O0C schedule and losses to Depaul and Providence hurt and not holding homecourt against Villanova and Xavier are why we are on the bubble, outside looking in. It would have helped immensely if we had beaten Creighton at Creighton. Close, it was..

A few years ago a 9-9 UCONN Team caught fire and won the BE on the way to the NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP.. We're not a NCAA championship Team but, we could surprise in the BE tourney but, this team hasn't shown much in big games so far. That's a fact.

Sometimes you have to step up. NOW , WOULD BE GOOD.

Xavier is not a lock. They are losing to SH and then have Villanova and BET. They need at least one more win.

Not a weak out of conference schedule, Wisconsin, Syracuse are possibly going to be top 2 seeds, played an ACC team and Big 10 team.

TOP 2 SEEDS? Neither Wisc or Syracuse will be top 2 seeds at this point.. And, we lost to both..Also lost to a Big 10 doormat, Penn State.. Wagner, Longwood, Monmouth, Fordham are wins that don't help, other than to say "cupcake."

Ohio State lost to Penn State twice as well and they have an RPI of 25.

You're wasting your time, champs.

You do have some merit, in regards to both Wisconsin and Syracuse vying for #2 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Although, I think Wisconsin would have to finish strong and get to the championship game of the Big 10 Tournament to cement a #2 seed. They're probably more of a 3-seed now.

By the way, St. John's SOS is 30.

Thanks for putting it in caps, yes top 2 seeds, absolutely, Lunardi has them both as 2 seeds, they are both in top 6 in RPI. Negative posters keep saying 1-7 against 1-50, while factually accurate, the fair analysis is 1-5 against top 10, keep up with the negativity. Don't forget San Fran is at 70.

Xavier is not a lock. They are losing to SH and then have Villanova and BET. They need at least one more win.

Even with the Seton Hall loss Xavier is a lock. All the loss did was hurt their seeding. I have not seen one projected bracket that doesn't include them. Lunardi currently has them as a 9 seed. You don't go from a potential 9 seed to possibly not being in the tournament. As I've said before, the worst case scenario for them is that they go from a lock to a bubble team but with just 2 potential games left (Villanova which helps their SOS even if they lose and 1 game in the BET) that seems unlikely.

Xavier would finish the season 20-12, 10-8. Lunardi has them as a 9 seed before loss to SH. I would think that they still make it but wouldn't put them as a lock, three straight losses I would think they drop from a 9 seed to one of the last teams in.

If Kemba Walker could put a so-so Uconn team on his shoulders and 'march' them through the "old" BET and the NCAAs, why can't DLo go on a magical run, averaging 26 ppg, 7 boards, Rysheed 8 assists, and maybe we can do some serious damage.... you never know. We're deep, we defend and block shots, we have athletes, we can hit our FTs.......miracles do happen. Remember the glass is twice as large as it needs to be, not half empty.

That's my point. I don't get why people are saying that Xavier was a bubble team, especially before the Seton Hall loss. They were a solid lock before the loss and they are a still a lock even now with the loss, even if their seeding takes a hit. Now if they lose their next two, giving them 3 losses in a row, then I can see people questioning their status.

That uconn team was not a so so team. Alex oriaki got drafted in the 2 nd round this year, Jeremy lamb went #12 in the 1st round two years ago, shabazz Napier might be 2 nd team all America this year and might get drafted in the 2 nd round, roscoe smith leads the nation in rebounding and might be a pro to. Although the last 3 were all freshmen that year they were still great players. They were 9-9 but that's when the big east was still the best conference in America and that year it might of been the best conference of all time. St. John's did destroy uconn that year at the garden.

UConn so-so by way of their record that year. You're right in that all 9 losses were to BE teams, none outside the conference!

I was at the game where we destroyed them, it was awesome. They had a weird year, finishing tied for ninth in the BE regular season, had to play into the BE Tourny. We beat them bad, ND swept them.

But you could tell they had talent and it took off at the right time....no one says the Johnnies are without talent.....all's I'm saying....

Look, with all that this team has been through this year, the rough start at the beginning of the year (tough losses to Wisconsin Penn St. and Syracuse), their 0-5 start in the Big East, all the tragic personal issues that they have faced, through all of it, the fact remains that they can still accomplish what they set out to accomplish this year. It's all still right out there in front of them. All they have to do is grab it. All they have to do is win the next three games in row and they will still have the opportunity to do some great things this year. That is what they set out to do when this season began and it's all still right there for them. Go out there and take it gentlemen, go out there like you want it, like it means something. It all starts Saturday, best of luck to the team.

6 point dogs?
Too much?

2 or 3 point dog.

line would open with us getting 1-2.....today....depends on what happens marq vs prov.....

Thinking 3 point dog since Georgetown was 4 point dog to Marquette, also have to factor in Senior Day for them, Marquette could be as high as 4 1/2 point faves and a minimum of 1 point faves depending on Providence game.

As you probably remember I think Marquette is a poor team, one of the worst shooting teams in the B.E. Their motivation however will be senior day, our drubbing of them at the garden and their at home. Still, remember we were able to stop Gardner and Wilson. Our zone in the second half stopped them cold. Have to stay close to Thomas. Their bench is really lacking, so lets drive to the basket and pick up fouls.

Kemba Walker and DLo are not in the same galaxy.
