Luis status

He was a skywalker no doubt, and an all Big East player, and a very exciting player, but a different kind of player than Luis IMO. Not as fluid, didn't have as good a handle and didn't have a very good outside.

Luis hasn't proven to be a good outside shooter, but his form is good and I think he'll develop in to a decent shooter. I see Luis as a 2 or a 3. Where as DR was definitely a 4.

Having said all of this, if Luis develops in to an all big east level player, we'll all be thrilled. Time will tell.
Is this your buddy david russell we are talking about? LOL

Stop being sensible M

All this time we could have had a Nike sneaker hookup and you've been hiding this on us you Sly Fox ? :)
Wouldn’t that be great . Unfortunately , my daughter in law had a recurrence of her Breat Cancer and took a Disability stipend and had to leave Nike .

And , Nike drifted into some serious Financial problems of late that almost bankrupted them , so the Golden egg would have dried up , sooner or later.

On the positive side, She is doing well and appears to be in remission now . We hope and pray ,

U nailed it no doubt. I guess I was basing my opinion on pure athleticism. They can both jump out of the gym. And when I saw Luis trying to throw down some vicious dunks the last few games. It reminded me of Russel.

Shelton Jones is a great comp, actually. I never saw David Russell play, but I played against Jones in HS and watched almost every game in his career with the Johnnies.
The “Amityville Horror” developed into a big time player. Hopefully Luis does the same.

Agreed 24', but I think that Luis needs to work on taking the best/safest shot, not the most spectacular. David Russell played within himself from the time he put on the Johnnie uniform. When the spectacular dunk was called for, he provided it, but he didn't force it. Luis has the potential to be a very good player, if he decides to not try and do too much.

We have won without Luis but if Ledlum is out also we could be in trouble. Would be a nice game for Zuby or Wilcher to have their coming out party.
Agree, last game showed how much better Joel plays w a rebounding, physical partner like Ledlum. Like Luis, but losing Chris Saturday would hurt more w our limited interior strength imo.
