LoVett Future

How about someone who isn't a joke? LOL

To be fair, I expect that he will likely be right and he may even have some inside info but he posts so much complete garbage it's hard to take him seriously. Also to be fair I don't spend much time on JJ anymore (not after Dave stiffed MJM for the FF fee) so maybe he's changed.

For my part, I'll wait until either Happy or Paultz confirm or the news is publicly disclosed. Not feeling good on this one, however,

Not losing sleep over it

I believe he leaves, but last heard a few days ago his father was still "pondering".

I saw that the last post was from Paultzman and was filled with dread that the bad news was about to be confirmed. I'm glad there is still hope no matter how slim.

whats his pop's twitter handle and email? some fans might want to give him some encouragement to stay....lol jk

Lovett plays basketball like a man who is in a hurry to get somewhere. Hope I am reading him wrong, but not feeling great about our chances of keeping him. Then again, this is what every high major has to deal with every year. Except you only stay a high major if you have someone on the bench with talent waiting for his chance, or an equally skilled recruit on the way.

Spoke to someone on the staff concerning Lo Vett leaving and they don't know his plans. If he can get a decent contract abroad I believe he 'll leave.

Not that I want to see Lovett leave. But we are fortunate that Simon is on board next year. Let's hope Mussini stays and we get a skilled grad transfer big. If that happens I still think we will be in good shape next year.

I really hope Mussini stays. He will be very valuable to the team and important to have upperclassmen but I fully expect him to be improve even more and become even more efficient and he can be a killer from beyond the arc

Wish I could hit "like" multiple times.

4th guard, shooting specialist would be ok. I assume if LoVett leaves, the grad guard Matt is pursuing will be good enough to be in top three.

I also hope he returns. My thought is that, unless he thinks he is going to get completely buried on the bench, he will come back. Mussini doesn't seem to shy away from challenge and I think he understands that a Euro contract will be there in two years. For now, he may want to get a degree, sharpen his skills, and see where this goes. This is of course pure speculation, as the next time I talk to him will be the first.

I do also think he will continue to improve. He would have it no other way.

Well than,be sure to send our regards the next time you do talk to him. ;) Think a grad transfer guard will struggle to get minutes if coaches' fave ME remains on the roster.

One can only hope.

Somebody on JJ just confirmed what Baldi said, hes gone. Although I don't know anything about the reliability of the poster.

Interesting - in that scenario, any thoughts on where that might leave Ellison?

Sorry if I missed it, but where was it reporter that Matt is pursuing a transfer guard or is that just speculation in light of the fact that Lovett is likely leaving?

Count me among the unanimous group that hopes Mr. Lovett returns to the St.John's lineup next season..... but I do not believe it will be a disaster if he does not.

Redshirt Justin Simon was a higher ranked recruit than LoVet coming out of high school, is 5+ inches taller, has a substantially longer wing span, and is perhaps a better defensive player than Mr. Lovett. Mr. Simon has spent the last 2 seasons playing as a member of the University of Arizona team and as a redshirt on the St.John's practice squad so he should be on his game at the start of the coming season.

Add in Simons, Mussini, and a more mature Ellison and I believe the St. John's backcourt may do just fine during the 2017-18 season.

I do not feel a need to sign another guard unless it is a high quality addition.

If he is a big part of the rotation next year we won't make NIT. He is a fine 4th guard and don't want to see Monte act like Jon Favreau from Swingers after he got dumped so for those reasons hope he stays. But really won't impact our team next year if he leaves.
