but look at the bright side we will make the nit. no issue there 10-8 11-7 is a good season for us if we return everyone we will be maybe 12-6 13-5 the following year in the big east

also i dont want to hear people bashing me for saying we will lose tonight its just an opinion. like i said i really hope im wrong i just dont see it. but stranger things have happened. but i just see louisville as a wounded dog tonight they need this one badly they will be ready to put it to us hope were ready also. plus i saw no fire from hines the other day it was like he was going through the motions. i think lavin not being here hurts he might not be a great coach. but he does see to be able to motivate them. i dont see that with hines why not let keady do the job . anyone know why he wanted hines over keady

nothing wrong with making nit. if your a bubble team to tourney. you guys think this team is duke or indiana. we are a middle of pack big east team. if we do ake tourney we most likely lose in first round by 15. so no i dont think the nit is a failure as a season.
 
i'd rather lose in the 1st round of the big dance than win the N.I.T. there's no thrill as good as filling out your bracket and having st.johns in the final. boy i miss those days. it's been a long time. btw i cant beleive we have ranger-islander game at 7 then st.johns on at 9 and it's valentines day. All i can say is my wife's going to be lonely this valentines day. i better pick up 2 dozen roses on the way home

i would prefer that also but i just dont think that its a failure if we dont. if we go 10-8 in big east you really think thats failure i dont this team is flawed. i would rather make the touranaent with hope we would be able to do soething rather to know they will be gone after first game. that being said still would like to be there

Being realistic: They`re young and just starting to learn how to win in college ball. They should get atleast 17 wins, so in my opinion this year wouldn`t be a failure. Since I believe that you gotta improve atleast 4 games a year when going from a bad team and trying to turn it around.

Everytime I watch 2 elite teams going at it in a game, I`m saying to myself: "When will St. John`s ever be in a game like this?" I hope it`s next year.

Hi, new to the site myself but a long time fan. I say the same things to myself when big ( time) programs play each other. It's sad how every year we start out with high expectations and seem to lower our standards as the reality of the season plays out. I still think we have a tough road ahead with no wins in the remaining games guaranteed.

i agree with you no one want the nit but i take it as a least we will make something they improved over last year . i fully believe the following year we will be a top 25 team if they all stay

As for tonight, I assume Branch is out and Coach Lavin is in California... I will be happy if we cover the spread. Their place, Cards coming off a loss... ouch.

I agree. Hopefully Branch coud be healthy for USF and we can start taking care of business.
 
If this Wisconsin game goes into another OT I'm going to be pretty freaking pissed

15-14 Louisville (we were down 11-3 at one point).

Obekpa doesn't have any blocks, but once he came in, his mere precense has turned it around on D.
 
Man-to-man defense and this team looks golden.

This team is built to play man-to-man. Pointer is in his element when we play man.
 
We look a lot feistier so far. Hope I don't jinx it. Look, Harrison made a 3! Feels like forever since he's been dead on from out there. We blocked like 3 of their past shots...we are no push over when we play motivated. Not having Lavin kills us and it's just not fair, but there is no better gift to give coach than the head of Louisville tonight!
