Longwood Game

If Hooper can't hit a wide open 3 from the top of the key we don't need him out there.

If you are going with that thinking then we might as well bench Harrison as well....he is 0-5 on all fairly good looks.

Harrison is decent shooter. He's also a streaky shooter.

Driving aggressively has to become priority #1, #2, and #3 for this team. Whether they drive to score, draw a foul, or draw attention and dish ... the offense doesn't have fluidity unless they penetrate.

Agree! VCU plays a similar style, as well, Desco. They were attacking the tin (although, they have a handful of guys who can hit from outside).

Yea, but Harrison handles the ball, he can drive and draw a foul, and he passes relatively well. Max is a one skill guy, I'm not ready to give up on him - but I do think he needs to relax and let the shots come to him. He can wait the extra .5 second and get himself set.

5 offensive rebounds for Longwood when our guys are so much bigger, stronger and athletic. That's been the story all season. Rebounding is all about positioning and effort. Our guys are poorly coached and lazy.

right? Our best possessions have been when Branch drove into the lane, or some of the last few trips down when D'angelo has gotten into the lane. Even this last one when he missed the floater, things opened up.

Agreed Desco. Harrison does a lot of other things.

I'd definitely attempt to get into the lane with our athleticism and the way they're (the refs) calling fouls this season.

Dumb play by Branch. Just dish it off and it's a layup for us.

the dumb turnovers is what keeps branch on the bench

I thought branch was the most improved player Lavin has ever coached. That was such a low iq play

I'm now thinking we should've not redshirted Balamou, as he would be good player to use in a press.

Good move by Branch there. We need to win this game by 20 or more points.

And then branch makes an impressive move. I just wish this group of great athletes had a basketball iq, but that is the difference between us and a team like Louisville.

Those last 35 seconds we should have held for one but instead got a Jordan jumper and a Layup by Branch. It worked out but these guys aren't thinking

If this mean anything.... Penn State beat Monmouth 84-52.

Penn State has played four common opponents.... Wagner (W, 74-62), Bucknell (L, 90-80), Longwood (W, 93-67), and Monmouth.

Branch layup came with five seconds left with a running clock while the other team inbounds, they aren't the smartest bunch but no need to condemn them for that.

you missed my point. Jordan had the ball with 35 seconds left and could have held for one and didn't. We got lucky and ended up with 2 baskets
