Lobster rolls etc

Todays taste test. Lobster Sliders from Novita in Garden City. 4 sliders with very tasty french fries not seen in pic. 7.5 claw rating because I ate them in the office. If I ate them there with some beer the claw goggling effect might have bumped it to an 8 claw rating

Todays Lobster Roll Copenhagen Bakery in Northport. Nothing Special on the roll. Lobster salad on a brioche roll. Awesome views though since you can eat it outside on the water so great clawbiance factor.

Wouldn't drive out here just for the roll but to hang in northport for a few hours is never a bad thing. 6.5 claw rating including extra clawdit for clawbiance

On top of mjmaherjr's comments, I'd like to add that it gets pretty crowded there, so plan accordingly Desco.

friend of mine was driving out to east hampton from nyc thursday night of memorial day weekend and it took her over 5 hours to get there

I gotta try to get my brother to fly me out there in the police helicopter. lol

Guy across the street from my parents has the right idea. Leaves his cars out there and takes train to and from Manhattan. Parks them at his mom's house closer to the city in wintertime.

Sadly, you might even hit helicopter traffic -- they come flying over the Peconic nonstop headed down toward the ocean. Man, I need to hit the lottery Friday.

The noise from helicopters and small planes heading to the Hamptons is a nuisance. If you are in the flight path they spoil the quiet and serenity of the East End. Essentially it's the 0.1% ers flaunting wealth and not caring how annoying the noise pollution is for everyone else

You sound like an East End native or at the very least a homeowner on the north side of the South Fork. I've literally seen people at Foster Memorial Beach in Sag Harbor shaking their fists up at the sky when they fly overhead.

It has become way too much of a scene south of the highway, and gets more nauseating every summer. I love the ocean waves, but if I was filthy rich I'd be in North Haven and not in any of the Hamptons.

All good insights though
one doesn't have to be "filthy rich", rich, somewhat rich to reside in North Haven village just across the Sag Harbor bridge - there are some everyday people still around - I know a few... :)
(for those not familiar with the area Long Island's East End/ "the Hamptons" is like a fish tale top is north fork bottom being the so-called south fork - and Sag Harbor is on the north coast of the south fork...confusing I know...if you wants to see traffic, hear horns hunk, middle fingers rising, HBP, arguments visit only May through Labor Day when angry " tourists" arrive - sorry for being long winded - thank God we got a rich diversion from summer stress with SJU BBall!)

An east end get together of redmen.com in Greenport or Sag would be great.
.

I would be rolling to check out Sag/south folk places out through Montauk
Someone could help w/ North Fork where most of the wineries are
A Saturday or Sunday afternoon might be the best. Of course we wound want to mingle 2-4 hours or whatever works.
There is plenty of good options for those not into lobster. And there as discussed are places further West of the North & Sourh forks.
Beast or ? want to take charge???
There are wineries eg Pindar with live music & we could take out own food...

I don't know how anyone feels about lobster in mac and chesse but the Macbar in NYC does a good one.

I love lobster mac and cheese so I will definitely try that place out sometime
Have you tried this place?http://www.clambaronline.com/

No but I'll probably be out that way in late july or august for client meetings so I'll hit that place then or just go out with Nathaliie one day during the week to avoid traffic

Seems like our type of place

this is a great dealn because they take it out of the shell for you. Love Mortons. Much better than Ruth Chris on long island ambiance wise and while I like the food at bryant and cooper the tables are so close you can hear everyones conversations. Cap Grill is good too but I like Mortons better

My wife is the biggest lobster roll fan I've ever met.
Here's tonight's, eaten at the Bar Harbor Inn. Said it's the best ever.

So I had the Cali roll. I wouldn't get it again. It was a bit spicy and I love spicy. Killed the taste of the lobster.

What I really want to know maher, is where is the best lobster roll is 15 minutes from Northport. Is it the one in Cold Spring? Plus I'd like to see a top 10 rating or something.
