Lavin parting ways with St.John's

Who is the agent? I would not want him as my agent with such a loud mouth.and no consideration for his client's confidentailty.

He may have been given the green light to leak the story thus scooping the speculators who had been getting it wrong.

So he leaked it to some dude who posts on a SJU fan board? No offense, but if there was strategic value to leaking it, Mr. Magoo would not have been the recipient.

I meant Mr. Google. Sorry

The Slice thing could make sense if Calipari is heading to the NBA but I would think he would have more lucrative options. I still live in the 80's so Mullin would make sense to me.

Totally agree about Slice. As for Mullin, can't see him taking the job if offered.

Agree

Can the mods put a question mark on the topic title until this is confirmed or refuted? It may be true, it may not - but until then it's just a rumor - just like the Monasch rumor.

I wasn't saying that I think Mullin would take the position. I was saying I was stuck in the 80's (Back to the Future, MTV, 86 Mets, Final Four, Girls with Perm's)

Pre extension/parting ways drama I was told in Charlotte (by SJU personnel) that Chris Mullin is interested in the job. I never believed it but I guess there might be some truth to that.

-2 NCAA tourneys
-2 20+ win seasons
-2 NBA players

I don't care some of you don't like him. If we were to be under .500 next year I understand but now??? Not a right decision in my view.

This, in a nutshell, is why Lavin should go:

Our biggest games over the last 3 seasons..

#14 Cinncinnatti - Win
#19 Georgetown - Loss
#20 ND - Win
#9 Syracuse - Loss

#20 Pittsburgh - Loss
#24 ND- Loss
#15 Marquette - Loss
BE Tournament - Villanova - Loss
NIT - St Joes - Win
NIT Viginia - Loss

2013

Good post. I think a lot of people would think the record is better because they count games where we lose by less then ten points as wins in their minds.

Question mark in title for now. To be removed today or thread to be deleted? Wtf knows (other than all the posters who say they know).

with threads like this the site is going off the rails, where is your source buddy? don't say crap like this without a source.

I would bet this is BS. google just posted 2 days ago that his "sources" said monasch was fired. If this turns out to be crap I don't want a guy like this posting

Agreed. Just post that you are hearing he may be fired but have no confirmation. Don't go and start a new thread. I just logged in and thought it was a definite decision and breaking news it's just more BS speculation

I am sharing with you what i was told and I stand by it 100%. Do you want me to record the conversations to satisfy you? Come on man.

I appreciate the info, but with all the rumors out there you'll appreciate my skepticism. Can you give me a little context as to how you know Lavin's agent or why he would share this info with you?

My sources are saying either Lavin gets extended or he parts ways with SJU. Did I miss anything? Oh yes. Or he serves as volunteer coach with no contract.

I just don't see a reason to post a brand new thread making it sound like it is confirmed when it is just more "sources said this and that". Guess what, "sources" said an extension was being worked out two days ago. So I'll believe it when I see it. And I prefer Lavin gone too

Agreed, it's horrible.
Should let the haters wait a few years before celebrating.
Nobody wanted the job 5 years ago.
Why should it be any different today?
Let's see who DePaul gets,
