Kyle Anderson PG (UCLA)

Does he lag on defense all the time, or just in all star games? I can't imagine Hurley would let it happen on his watch.

Kyle has great hands on d and rebounds the ball very well. He also has exceptional length. All of that will help him in our zone, but there is no excuse for not getting back on d. Whatever school he chooses will get that out of him.

I agree Marillac and since we have 2 very good players or more per position going forward I can only imagine that those that do not buy into what the staff is my teaching/preaching will not see pt, irrespective of their talent level.
Sean Evans was forced to adapt, I am sure KA will buy in very quickly to the staff's words of wisdom.

Per Zags....

Kyle Anderson is stuck in Los Angeles until Wednesday because of Hurricane Irene-related flight cancellations and thus will not visit Georgetown on Tuesday as originally scheduled, a source with knowledge told SNY.tv.

The visit was moved to next Tuesday (Sept. 6), but the 6-foot-8 Anderson will still visit Seton Hall and St. John’s as planned Thursday and Friday, respectively.

He then takes an official to Florida Sept. 16-17.

Maybe, Kyle can play pickup ball with some of the newcomers on Friday. I believe the entire team will be at school by Friday. I think Pelle, Sampson and Garrett is supposed to return on Thursday, if I'm not mistaken.

We can also bring in a few Johnnies from the past, if need be. Let me say this.... I really think Lavin is gonna be tough to beat out when all said and done. Lavin will have the unofficial on Friday and supposedly, an in-home visit before the 20th. Do not forget Chiles and Hines aren't shabby either.

If, we lose out then so be it. But, I believe we're gonna be very tough to beat out in this recruiting battle.

We are going to be tough in each and every recruiting battle going forward as we have been for the last 16 months.
We have 3 ace recruiters on staff plus Dunlap, Keady and Hicks. What a staff.
There is a reason being away from the bench for 7 years Coach Lavin is bringing in the best group of talent ever to SJU.

"latest kyle anderson rumor: versatile blue chip st. anthony's star and savon goodman both to ucla. we'll see. announcement sept. 20."

KA still has the official visit to SJU. Still time, but the idea of the two of them teaming up together is frightening and probably not a good sign for SJU fans. Maybe Lavin will start a Flash Mob when KA arrives on campus.

KA is the last crucial piece to puzzle to the very top. We HAVE to get him.

I guess you're new to the site, BuckNasty. In the future, you can post articles or pieces of recruits in their respective threads. Just a heads up.

IMO, this tweet by Weiss is practically a regurgitation of what is being said over the past few days. He actually took it a bit further by saying the rumor IS Anderson (and Goodman) is headed to UCLA. Go back and take a look at Weiss' past tweets. That should you give you an idea.

Although, it could be true in the end.... This particular tweet by Weiss is practically piggybacking from the past few days.

MJ - I call him "Loopy Hoopsy" - always behind the curve - all his sources are long gone...

Hoops is a terrific person but the guy does not have a clue. And I am not simply saying that because it is "bad news" for SJU.

First off as someone stated he is just repeating what others have noted. Secondly his recent tweets of Jim O'Brien going to Rutgers (back in 2010) and Matt Painter taking the Missouri job were a bit of an embarrasment for Hoops when they turned out to be wrong.

Not to mention Goodman is almost certainly going to be a 2013 recruit.

Let's also not forget when Weiss believed a mock post by lawmanfan, and used it as reference in a column. That was very embarrasing.

Please Note: Hoops said "I have no idea on this one" on his Facebook post!

Hoops struggles mightily when it comes to expressing himself in 140 characters or less on Twitter. He doesn't know how to make things sound less definitive when they are nothing but rumors.

B) possible choices
seton hall I'd be very dissapointed & concerned about his career path to NBA
G'town This would hurt. A competitive Big East school we see too often
Florida Can accept this & we would not see much of him.
UCLA Again can accept but we have to face them once a yr on national TV
St John's Oh YEAH perhaps our bes Best Recruit ever.

Thoughts of other Redmen ?

Per Zags....

While Seton Hall is in Anderson’s home state of Jersey, St. John’s is in New York and plays in Madison Square Garden. Keep in mind that Anderson’s mother, Suzanne, lives in Harlem.

Anderson is also well aware of the nationally-ranked recruiting class head coach Steve Lavin has brought in for this year.

“It’s close to home,” Anderson said of St. John’s by phone from California. “Coach Lavin is a great coach so I’ll be playing for a great staff. The incoming freshmen are coming in this year that will be sophomores in the Big East.”
