Kyle Anderson PG (UCLA)

"Coach Lavin is a great coach so I’ll be playing for a great staff"

Freudian slip? ;-)

Yes, it was mentioned by Zags that he would be headed to G'town next Tuesday. I have a hunch he'll be heading to St. John's next Wednesday.

THERE'S SOMETHING TO BE SAID ABOUT SLOW FOOTED,CEREBRAL,POINT FOWARDS(HALL OF FAME),BEING A TOP RECRUIT FOR A TEAM. KYLE CAN ONLY BRING POST SEASON SUCCESS TO ST.JOHN'S,IF HE DECIDES TO STAY CLOSE TO HOME.

Kyle Anderson also has home visits set w/ UCLA (Sept. 10), Fla. (Sept. 12) & SHU (Sept. 18). SJU & Gtown not yet set

Anyone know why he doesn't have a date set with us?

Just guessed on JJ as well that since both his parents are coming to see STJ on the visit maybe the in homes are for when both parents aren't present at the visit?

Keep hearing rumbling that he and shabazz might want to team up at UCLA hope there is nothing to the rumors

I think it depends on his role. I don't think he's going to come into college like Carmelo did or Durant and carry the scoring load. He's not built like that. Like many have said, you surround him with talent and let him be a facilitator, because that seems to be his greatest strength.

Does anyone feel he might be overated

Many very knowledgable bball people feel that with his explosion over the summer he may be underrated. One of the problems KA has in being judged is he is a throwback, his game is not geared to highlight reels or "in your face" moves. He plays smart, he plays under control, he does it all and most importantly, winning is number 1 with him and he WINS. He makes other players better and he is fierce at the end of games, just a stoned winner. I have watched him since he was in 8th grade and while he was always a serious prospect he has grown into being a very special player. I never thought I would compare anyone to Magic and I am not saying KA is that good, but you can't laugh if that comparison is made. I posted on JJ that my understanding is that KA was seriously considering SHU simply because the challenge of going to a program where all the pressure would be on him to carry the team was appealing to him on a certain level, he is that confident in his game. An article posted here reflected Hurley essentially saying the same thing; understand that the article had Coach discussing all KA's options and their appeal so it was not an SHU-centric article nor reflected any leaning to one school or another.
I still think he is coming to SJU but it is tough; I think there is a certain appeal to SHU and UCLA; KA has a genuine respect for the game and I believe the chance to be mentioned with the great players and teams of UCLA has a real appeal to him. We'll all find out on the 20th.

heard something last night that makes me feel real good about our chances. I'm in wait and see mode. Don't care about what ucla, gtown fans and others have to say. We will find out the 20th
