Kyle Anderson PG (UCLA)

heard something last night that makes me feel real good about our chances. I'm in wait and see mode. Don't care about what ucla, gtown fans and others have to say. We will find out the 20th

Would you consider the info to be from a reliable source?

By the way, have I said I'm ready for the 20th to get here? LOL

Does anyone feel he might be overated

I have been wondering how he would make out in typical NBA tryouts ie; quickness tests, vertical measurements, shooting/strength drills etc. Don't know enough about him to even make a guess. I do think he needs the ball and a strong supporting cast to be effective and that makes SJU an ideal place for him. Then again Durant did lousy in strength tests and look at what he's done. Basketball isn't a track meet and more emphasis is needed on the PLAYER aspect and that's where he excells. I hope he doesn't fall for a "big fish" situation like SHU. I think that would be a huge mistake for him. Magic didn't have much of a vertical or great footspeed but he always played with the best. Here's hoping Kyle makes the right choice for himself (and us).

I am with you Dink.. I can't wait for this to be over with. Btw i can't remember the last recruit who kept his intentions so closely guarded like Kyle has. Everyone hears and thinks he is going to each school represented on his list. You can put me down as someone who has heard he is a done deal for UCLA. I certainly hope this isn't the case.. but if you had to rank the schools for Kyle how would you do so? 1 through 5

Definitely, can't wait for this to be over, Happy. Although, I still hope he ends up at St. John's. Honestly, I think that is partly the reason why the attention of his recruitment is so heightened, Happy.... Because he has kept it to so close to the vest. Seemingly, making every school believe they have a chance when actually he can only go to one place.

Do you consider the source reliable, in reference to him ending up at UCLA or just practically regurgitation of the word from a few days ago? Actually, I've heard he's headed to St. John's. See what I mean? LOL

I don't know what is or isn't reliable nowadays to be honest with you. The guy who told me is a recruiting guy and not some regular gossip king. Does it make his info right?? Hopefully not... but i tend to believe him alot more then just picking the info off of a message board.. I would like to know the details of his anouncement.. Will he be doing it on TV, at his school, or will he be declaring under a tent to end this whole circus already :)

Yeah, "Trey, Part II" will also appear - lol

Anderson's inner circle is leaking these "done deal for X" rumors to throw everyone off. They don't want the kid's thunder stolen before the 20th.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit, if that was the case, LJSA.

I'll say the couple of folks who I've spoken to aren't just blowing smoke for the sake of. We'll certainly find out in a little over a couple of weeks.

Under a tent to end this whole circus, huh? LOL As, long as the tent ends up on Utopia Parkway then that'll be fine. ;)

I personally cannot think about this anymore or read anymore about it. In Lav We Trust. If we do not get Anderson, Lav will get someone just as good. Maybe not in 12, but we will get a top ranked player soon. If he does not come here, i hope he goes to a school we play, so we can shit on him and his team as sort of an i told you so...

U speak the truth. KA will increase the odds of a deep, deep run in 2013 and 2014. But it may happen w/o him depending who else is added.

Yes a credible source, but there is still 2 weeks with a lot of visits and conversations left. I'm sure everyone has a credible source saying he is leaning one way or another. At this point it's all conjecture until he announces. I'm sitting back and waiting and not worrying what UCLA and SHU people are saying. We're dealing with a young man who could change his mind 20 times between now and the 20th.

 Per Zags....

As for St. John’s, Anderson would enter in 2012 when most of Steve Lavin’s heralded 2011 recruiting class will have a year under their belts and will be sophomores.

“He’d make them better,” Konchalski said. “He makes people better. He’s a recruiting magnet. Kids like to play with him because he gives the ball up. He really sees the floor. He is a gifted passer in much the same sense that Chris Mullin was a gifted passer. Chris Mullin made some touch passes where he never even really caught the ball. He would sort of direct the angle of his hands.

“Kyle Anderson will get an offensive rebound and tip it to a guy who’s free for a layup. He just is so smart.”

 Kyle nearing a decision:

But the highly regarded prospect still has a ways to go before he’s ready to make a pledge. Anderson, who just visited Seton Hall and UCLA, will visit Georgetown on Tuesday, St. John’s on Wednesday and then Florida on the 16th.

“The morning of the 19th I’m going to make a decision and on the 20th I’ll release it,” Anderson, who will be announcing on his 18th birthday, said.

Anderson’s most recent visit was to Seton Hall this past weekend.

“The visit went well,” Anderson said. “The student body showed e a lot of love. I had a great talk with the coaches and everything was great.”

“I did everything,” he added. “I saw everybody on campus. I watched the team work out. I met the coaches and everybody and the managers.”

Just prior to visiting Kevin Willard and the Pirates, Anderson went by UCLA.

“That trip was great,” Anderson said. “I had a good talk with coach [Ben] Howland. I didn’t get to see anybody since they were in school. I had a good talk with coach.”

Word has circulated that Shabazz Muhammad and Anderson have discussed the possibility of playing together. While Anderson says it has been discussed, he’s making his own college decision.

“We are real close,” he said about his relationship with Muhammad. “We talked

I really dont think you can gauge what a high school kid is thinking. Anderson may have a great visit to Georgetown and they will be in the lead, or comes away super impressed with us after his visit. I dont think you can ever know what a recruit is thinking. I guess we will know on the 20th.
