 i think ka has already made up his mind. geez it's 2weeks away. baron bleeds blue and gold, so he not recruiting on lavin's behalf. to think otherwise is idiotic. it would be like recruiting AGAINST ucla. baron did say that ucla team should have won an nc. he also followed that up with "but if we had lavin would still be their coach". however what baron thinks of lavin's coaching skills has nothing to do with lavin the person. I'm sure ka has already formulated his thoughts on ucla. what more can baron say? ....see you at the ucla men's gym, Kyle? whatever ploy lavin had in mind might backfire.

all this ploy does is show how close this recruiting battle is. if sj were comfortably ahead lavin wouldn't do this

Dude...to suggest that Baron Davis would be ALLOWED to work out at SJU with Rico Hines if he were bad mouthing Lavin or SJU... or even promoting UCLA over them to recruits WHILE THEY WERE VISITING SJU is so absurd its laughable.

Not sure I'd be too thrilled about Baron Davis talking to KA, and to say Lavin is the one who made him into a star is hilarious. Here's a quote with Baron Davis' thoughts on how Lavin is as a coach.

"We should have a banner up there: the only team to make the tournament without a coach."

So let me see if I have this straight...You would have us believe that:

Not only does Baron Davis think his team should have won a National title, but he also believes Lavin is a bad coach/moron and is the single reason he didn't win that title.

On top of that you are suggesting that because he feels Lavin robbed him of said title, and because Davis "reportedly" considers Lavin a lousy HC/moron, that Davis is working out all summer at a school he has no affiliation with, with a coach he hates and has no respect for, only to talk to recruits and steer them to other schools thereby sabotaging Lavins recruiting efforts and paying him back for that lost title.

I hear G'town is really pushing hard for 2012 PG D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera. He's a solid guard and a top 30 player. I had a chance to see him play at the Peach Jam.

Actually this is showing how smart Lavin actually is.

Think about it. He's using a UCLA grad who is in the pros to come out to OUR OWN CAMPUS and speak to a player we are going head to head with your own school.

It's freaking genius and honestly makes your opinion look like that of either a 10 year old or an out of touch Lavin Hater

I believe UCLA has an in-home with Kyle tomorrow. Ben Howland spent today in Nevada with the classes #1 recruit Shabazz Mohammad - which is in itself part of his recruitment of Kyle - pretty much condeded no Shabazz in Westwood, no Kyle in Westwood.

Not to be forgotten is Billy Donnovan and the Gators. According to Adam Zagoria, they still feel liek they have a great shot with Kyle. In honme with FL on Monday night and the visit next weekend.

It's going to be a long week.

I think we should all just say that all 5 schools still have a shot. I wouldn't be shocked if he picked any of the 5 ( yes even Seton Hall) I still can't remember a recruit in the past who has kept everything so tight lipped. I swear i hear a different school leads every day and that is a testament to how well Kyle and his family are playing this out. Fun stuff and these 10 days left should probably feel like a month with all the twists and turns.

I hope he doesn't go to either of our Big East competitors, but I really hope he doesn't go to the Hall. Many of their fans have acted like **insert the vulgar term of the male genital** for the past few months. It's gotten worse the closer to Anderson's announcement date. Abominable-like behavior towards St. John's fans. It just goes to show that anyone can act like a jerk behind a computer.

I've always wanted to land this kid due to his skills and IQ. I want to land him even more to shut the pie holes of the Hall fans.

 Reports on Twitter have Kyle scoring 31 points with 4 rebounds at the half in his IS8 game today. Yikes.
