Imagine a front court of Storr, Soriano and Yaxel. Storr, Zuby and Yaxel?Yaxel guy I most miss not having on our team.

We talkin' extreme lateral movement here. Those were the days.
UAB's leading rebounder in 9 or their last 10 and leading scorer in 5 of last 10. He's going to have some big time offers for his last year.Yaxel guy I most miss not having on our team.
Yeah but do you see how quick he gets to bunts or how he backs up first base!?!Even if one is in a different sport.
Would like to be one of them but than Rick would be admitting he made a mistake so I doubt it.UAB's leading rebounder in 9 or their last 10 and leading scorer in 5 of last 10. He's going to have some big time offers for his last year.
If you don't like reading news about former Johnnies (or in the case of Yaxel almost former Johnnies), might want to skip this thread which happens to be pretty popular because lots of posters do like to keep up with them. At least in my posts, there's no implication that the staff is at fault for not keeping Yaxel or any of the rest of them, I just enjoy seeing kids who either played for us or committed to play for us do well in their post Johnny career. It's as simple as that and not about to stop posting updates on these guys I find interesting.OK, I've heard enough. Not specific to any poster nor recent post though the Yaxel talk brought this POV of mine back to the surface.
Kids commit to coaches and then play for those coaches. When the coaches get fired or new jobs there's no allegiance to school anymore if there ever really was. Maybe all the guys some wish were still here or stuck to their commit were disenchanted with the school, turned off by the turmoil and/or loyal to CMA. I know Pitino in any rational mind is an upgrade, but there are so many other variables. What's to say even if Pitino had a more open door that these kids would have stayed or come. Posh's actions seem to indicate he wasn't that interested, and the crickets on Storr, Jones and Stanley last spring indicate the same, could apply to Kolby too. Maybe Rick was told that no one wanted to stay so he posed it as him asking them to leave to get ahead of it. Re the recruits I can believe he let them loose besides Gardner, he probably said "Yaxel who?". PS whatever happened to Harrison Reed?
