Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

He has a ton of talent and ability. Not surprising.

But dont miss him at all. He had his opportunity here and he didnt take advantage of it. He was downright bad here. Benched a few times he was so bad.

Funny thing about Anderson is that when the rumors were out there that he was about to get fired, Soriano and I believe Storr said they wouldn’t play for any other coach. Of course, that lasted all of 30 seconds. But still, I wonder if the environment under him wasn’t as toxic as some portray. I don’t miss him- Pitino is light years ahead of him—but I wonder if the toxic environment story got blown out of proportion.

Tidbit re photo above & game I saw.

Willie Wolters, the Loughlin guy second from left, was involved in a championship game at Fordham v Molloy. He was a bench player on that Larry Lembo led team & Molloy was led by Billy Lawrence, former UNC & Johnny guard.

Wolters came in game late due to Loughlin foul trouble. CHSAA had odd rule back then governing overtime. Essentially if game went past double OT, the first team to score won in next period. Well, Wolters tipped in a miss in third stanza and Loughlin won. He was very clumsy underclassman then, but developed into a good player at Boston College.

Peter Vescey was a scrub on that Molloy team and I have chatted with him a few times about that game, the ridiculous OT rule and those teams a few times. He has remarkable memory as you guys know.

Ok, enough “memory lane” stuff 😇

Likely to help support their contractual dispute.
