Yeah your right. You know Felipe Lopez was the #1 ranked HS kid in the country and he didn't work out as we all hoped so I would rather never get the #1 ranked kid. Also you know having the #1 pick in the NFL or NBA draft doesn't always work out so would probably just be better to get the 15 pick. Nothing is 100% except for Death, Taxes, Me double bogeying any hole following a birdie or par and Tishas Restaurant in Cape May NJ. Only restaurant I have ever gone to where I have never had a bad meal!
Moose what did Lavin do to you? Prior to you turning on him you were the equivalent of a Wrestling good guy. This 'heel" turn you have taken while amusing at first has become pretty depressing. What is next? Typing in all caps and calling yourself Real Moose?

Prior to you turning on Lavin you were pretty positive. You have since become cynical and depressed. I think we might have to start an intervention.
Not sure why he would bring up Lavin. Regardless, I agree with you 110%. We pick up 2 kids who could not cut it on the floor while at MSU or ARI, but because CM and co. put their stamp on it, we have now turned the corner? I don't think I've ever seen people so happy for picking up 2 kids who could not cut it at major programs... Are we accepting that the BE is not a powerhouse? Doesn't make sense.

Clark was in the rotation at Michigan State for two years including a Final Four team. Simon was a top 50 recruit for Arizona. No one is saying either will be ALL BE(I will leave that to Marillac). But getting two guys from two programs galaxies ahead of where we are now can only be a positive! I stand by that even if both come here and stink. Actually not even sure what the counter argument could be? Save schollies for a couple HS kids? Not getting bunch of Top 100 kids yet, so that argument is pointless.

See I blame Lavin for your heel turn.
From what I remember you were slow to finally turn on Norm, so I guess you are pretty loyal by nature. Or just have a really high tolerance for bad basketball. Then, and I totally give you credit for this even if it was just a guess you were one of the first people to start throwing around Lavin's name as a potential replacement. Lavin comes gets off to a really good start then things start to sour. You then turned on Lav's much quicker than you did Norm which somehow scarred you emotionally. That is my diagnosis anyway.
Shocked you feel that way
I just saw that particular tweet. That is one of a few reasons why I don't care where our recruits come from, per their locale. Some people are so, caught up in NYC recruits, when it doesn't matter where they come from, as long as they can play ball, IMO.
This staff has shown themselves all over the area, and this is what they get in return. Now, I know the PSA coach doesn't speak for all the area coaches, but it just reiterates one of the reasons why I wouldn't care about having a team of mainly out-of-towners.
By the way, solid job by the staff, per landing Clark and Simon. If they nab Livingston, and things break our way during the season, then we could find possibly find ourselves amongst the top 6 teams in the Big East.

Couple things and then we can go back to Simon Says.
I gave Norm 4 years. By year 5 I wanted him gone.
I never threw out Lavin's name before he was hired. I mentioned his name when UCLA canned him back in 03 and was surprised his name popped up when we hired him. Pleasantly surprised but then quickly saw how much of a fraud he was. Yes I keep using that word and will use it until the day I die.
Guess I'm just tired of rooting for a losing team. Also to be honest as I've gotten older I care less and less about sports in general.
The fact that they transferred doesn't mean that they couldn't cut it at those programs. Sometimes things just don't work out at program for a kid. Sometimes it's just not what the kid expected etc. Roshown Mcleod transferred from St., Johns years ago, does that mean he couldn't cut it here? He went to Duke and played very well. I am extremely happy to land these two guys.
