Jordan Status?

im sorry but i have a different perspective than most of you. Im upset, but not at Lav, at JORDAN!! This is a TEAM, i know its easy to cast judgement on Lav since he is at the helm. I for one applaud the way he runs a team. I like the discipline he is trying to instill in the program. They should all be focused on the TEAM aspect. If by chance Jordan is not focused on school work, or upset over not starting, or any other issue he is having trouble dealing with....I applaud Lav for giving him the leave. Now that being said, he could be leaving because of a legit family reason....but if its anything besides the fact of his ill Mom, he needs to be with his TEAM! These guys have developed such good chemistry together, its so hard to see it fall apart. I feel for DLo, and the other Srs. These guys have put so much into the program, it was finally starting to pay off. If Jordan thinks he is going Pro, that could be the funniest thing Ive heard in awhile. He is so far from a Pro player that he needs every bit of his years at St Johns to get him ready. Go down ANY D-League roster, its riddled with great college players who left way too early. Im just as nervous as anyone that the recuits have not come, but I do trust in Lav. We've also had our share of bad bad luck. It seems we are never meant to be...this could of been the year. I hope there is a turn of events and that somehow Jordan reappears on the team. Is it no coincidence that Jordan is not allowed to speak to the media ? The kid obviously has some issues. Lets hope DLo, Dom, IV can convinve Lav and Jordan its not too late, reconcile, and lets go beat Nova!

You're the same guy who suggested Lavin should be extended back in December.

This board would make for an interesting study in human behavior. :cheer: ;)

little known fact. CIA "officially" ends decades of human behavior studies and experiments in the early 70s code named "MKUltra" but actually did not end until Christmas of 1997. A few days later, redmen.com was born. Coincidence?

Aha! The truth is finally out!!

Would actually explain a lot. ;)

Well it is pretty obvious by now, which members took part in the LSD studies.

LOL! Yes, it certainly is!!

@becb_sbn: Steve Lavin expects Rysheed Jordan to be back at some point.

@becb_sbn: "We want him back, we expect him to be back" That's the direct quote. So. Not a ton of new information.

Apparently from Fox interview today.

hasnt coached? Really ? We were just # 15 in the COUNTRY! Obekpa has developed into a legit force who is going Pro. We were 11-1 with a team that lost two legot bigs before game one. I think he is coaching great this year. You guys are dreaming if you think any other coach can comein here in the same situation and get better results.

They will continue to dream and shuffle idiotic names of players now coaching that would not come to play for Looie or anyone else in Queens. But now they are honored candidates.

Fascinating to see how this board can go from positive to negative in the space of seven days. Last week there was no talk of replacing Lavin, now we're getting all the usual suspects names put out as replacements. This board would make for an interesting study in human behavior. :cheer: ;)

I can only speak for myself but there is a big difference between what has happened so far this season and the state of the program. This team has generally played hard and well and after being very vocal in my criticism the last 3 years I admire their grit and committment to playing winning basketball. They came out flat against SHU but played well IMO against Butler; it is virtually impossible to win at this level with 5 players especially when only 1 can provide consistent offense. And therein lies the rub; this team's success was masking for a short while the horrible overall state of the program which again leaped into the spotlight with Jordan's absence. I don't need to go into detail but to have no bench this year, 4 seniors graduating, with only one seemingly middle of the road recruit for next year speaks for itself. The ineligibilities which have become the norm drag the program down even more. I have thought for a while Lavin is not a good fit for SJU and nothing that has happened this year has changed that opinion.

I certainly respect your opinion, and agree with some of it. I just don't think a coaching change is warranted at this point. And it's always seemed to me that some on this board had it in for Lavin from the beginning. I don't know why. Maybe because he's a West Coast guy? His slicked back hair? The posts written about Lavin by disgruntled UCLA fans? ( I never put much stock in that, considering who Lavin replaced!). The way he dresses?

It just seems to me that Lavin could win an NCAA championship here, and those same posters would be calling for his head. Just MHO and YMMV.

Whoever spread the lie that the seniors can't stand Jordan is hilarious

Where did you see this?

All I saw was Dee retweet a message that Jordan can use a trip to John Lucas.

Some poster said it in this thread. Going to read it now. Take a look at DLos twitter now, obviously wants to play with rysheed again.

I have no clue what D'lo thinks about Jordan. But D'lo wants to win about as much as any player I've ever seen. And since this is his last chance, I expect he'd be willing to let bygones be bygones and welcome Jordan back in to the fold provided he's willing to tow the line.

I cant believe Harrison has any problem with Jordan. In fact he was quoted earlier in the season saying Jordan would be making 10 million a year at the end of the season and intimated that he was the best player on the team, which btw he is (albeit he needs to refine his skills)

He may be the most naturally gifted, but he most definitely is not the best player on the team. D'lo may very well like Jordan, but I can't imagine D'lo is happy with his antics and how it's effected the team. Especially when this is far and away as good a team as he's been on in his 4 years here.

I believe Jordan is not coming back and that it all involves his handlers. This is a testament to the way high school players are recruited and how and where they get steered to go. They listen to these people who take charge and essentially direct the kids where they have connections and where they want them to go. I believe ,they dont want Jordan at st johns at this point and they have also realized he needs to play another year to be a pro prospect at this point. So excuses are laid out about family and personal problems but it is all hogwash. In fact, when you listen to Lavin talk, he knows nothing and in my opinion it is because the handlers are not talking to him and they have made the decision for the kid.

I think Lavin does know and has been trying not to throw Jordan under the bus

This

than my question to his handlers....the team is ranked ( was ranked )at # 15. Jordan was getting a ton of good exposure. He got a ton of mins. I think Lav was doing a great job with him, obviously since mock drafts had him slotted in 2016. Now, if this is true, his questionable character will only hurt his draft status. BAD move. The list goes on and on and on and on......Lenny Cooke, Omar Cook, and 100s of more...STOP listening to these people who end up wrecking your life. STAY IN SCHOOL !!!!
