Rough night for Champ; he never looked comfortable or got into the flow. Paul Reed played real well.

Did LaSalle ever beat Alcindor? I know he only lost like 6 times in high school but were they all out of state schools?

As a freshman Power did lose some games with Lew, but he came back as a “pro“ as a Soph. From his second year on, St Helena’s in the Bronx gave them a scare though. After Val Reid & Chimera graduated, LaSalle was not in same class as Power talent wise. DeMatha beat them at packed Maryland field house in a widely publicized, low scoring game.

Just finished breakfast in my hotel in Tel Aviv and wherever I go around the world I am wearing my St. John’s old red Nike cap. A big big white guy walks over to me and asks what does SJ stand for. I said St. John’s university in Queens. He said I was not sure. He says I played bball against them in 87, I played for Pitt. I ask were Charles Smith and Jerome Lane on your team, he looks at me and replies you know your college ball. 😀He says you had one hell of a tough front court player. I reply Jayson Williams or Billy Singleton. He goes to his phone and says yes Jayson Williams.
Off to the opening ceremonies in Jerusalem in a few hours which President Biden is attending. The President issupppsed to meet with athletes before, I told my son to take a picture if possible.

LOL, it's no big deal at all, just a salty former employee trying to grab some money on his way out. Anybody that reads that article can tell it's complete BS. DeMeo claimed he was the guy holding the team together, all while missing multiple weeks while being in the hospital after surgery, then missing even more time having to be at home recovering. How you holding the team together and you not even there lol. Then he claims they didn't care about Covid-19 protocol, and the Johnnies handled it better than any other team in the conference and didn't get shut down at any point due to a positive case.

What it boiled down to is DeMeo wasn't carrying his weight. His biggest recruit was Isiah Moore, who was the biggest problem on the team. And on top of that he was out multiple weeks and it appears as if he was going to be missing more time in the future. If CMA gets fired for not winning games, nobody is going to care that he was nice to DeMeo and let him work from home to handle personal issues. He needs an assistant that can be on the road, recruit, and be at practice, any reasonable person can read the article and understand that.
Just looking at Making plays post from last year
And boy does it appear to hit the nail on the head. Shoes has really been instrumental in the uptick in our recruiting.

Speaking of Jayson Williams - this crossed my timeline yesterday - incredibly moving read on Williams his struggles and what he's doing now to help others.

Love Jayson. Always super nice to us at games.

I saw something similar about him around 6 months ago

Hopefully he can help others after the tragic accident.
