They would have to petition the NCAA. There used to be a formula for a medical redshirt who has played, it included the number of games played by the player and what that percentage equates to when compared to the number of games played by the team and when his last game was played.  I believe the eight games played would be probably right on the cut off line.

I am pretty sure that the cut off is can't play in more than  30% of games and not during the 2nd semester.  Not sure if that counts post season tournaments.  Pinzon has played in 8 so the number of games shouldn't be an issue either way.  The variable is it has to be accepted by whoever at the NCAA approves the redshirt that the medical condition was indeed season ending but I don't think they push too hard on that, it would look bad.

Question for the board, do you think it’s possible that St. John’s can get  Champ enough NIL money next year that it’s worth it for him to come back if he’s not getting drafted in the first round?

I just saw where Kentucky has 1 million dollars Of NIL money on table for Oscar Tshiebwe if he wants to come back.

IMO, no.

FWIW.......saw Thomas O'Connell at the game last night wearing a St. John's warm-up top.  Nice he is still supporting the program.

D’Angelo, Sean Evans and DJ Kennedy, and rest of their team are safely in the Czechia Republic. The team owners got them out of the Ukraine recently and are all staying in a team hotel there and practicing at a local gym.

Pray for this former Johnny.....

There are a lot of Ukrainians in the US.   Just about every barber comes from that part of the world, and for simplicity's sake say they are Russian.   It's a heartbreaking aggression, and surreal that the entire world is standing by and watching this happen.   Certainly, I don't have the answers, but the Ukrainian president, who by nearly all accounts has done a great job, will likely be killed or at worst imprisoned.   Putin is an evil genius of a leader, who is an opportunist when he knows there will be little opposition.

Remind you of anybody else?

Putin is an evil genius of a tactician who has played a very bad hand brilliantly.  The thing you don't want to do as a strategy when you have very few cards is to behave so that everyone else at the table is after you.  Age and isolation may have made Putin delusional.

Agree.....this may not be the "layup" Putin thought.  My guess is he successfully overthrows the Ukranium government and takes over the country.  However, he is burning domestic political capital and further isolating his country economically.  It will be interesting to see how sympathetic China will be to Putin.

And prayers to the many US citizens who are stuck there and trying to get out, as well as the many still In Afghanistan. Just a horrific situation.

All the more reason for the US to become energy independent and not have to rely on countries with such nut jobs as Putin and others.

He does. And my names will be different from yours.

Just a reminder that trying to be slick and drop political innuendos in a post is still being political.

Reminder that all things political are against the rules here.
