Marcus has made several overtures in the past 3-4 years in an attempt to join the staff in the player development area…he would have made a great addition IMO.

He very well might be a great addition to the staff.
And I love Marcus as a player as I was a student those years when he was at SJU.
But it pains me to say the way he uses social media will not endear him to a coaching position.

Is it ok to hate him for his hair?

Is this the thread for this?

ESPN has Jon Givony's first Mock up today.  JC projected 54 to Utah.

At 54 , if the school can get him a good NIL deal, he’s better off coming back and trying to play himself into the first round.

I love Champ but I don't see him becoming a first round draft choice now or in a year from now. He has too many "warts" - not a great one on one defender, has difficulty creating shots for himself, etc. He's basically a good catch and shoot guy and they're a dime a dozen at the NBA level.

I hope he comes back for another year because he is a very good college player and a real asset to St John's. However, like many Johnnies before him, I see him as a marginal NBA player at best.

As hard as it may be, the best approach for Julian is to forget the draft and focus on his game.  There's a long list of college draft prospects that let the distraction get them off their game.  I think Champ is emotionally mature and will work through his current slump.  I also doubt he'll be back next year.

Re: Marquette home game reschedule status

I had tickets to the postponed game....  I followed up w/ SJU Ticket office for an update.

They advised they are hoping to hear back from the BE conference office today or tomorrow.

7 college Seniors were drafted in 2021 NBA Draft
2 in the 1st round.

Concerned about former Johnnies DJ and D'Angelo--believe they are teammates on a Ukrainian team.  Hope they get out sooner rather than later.

Sean Evans is also in that team.

Hoping he gets better quick for his sake, that of the team as I believe he can be a contributor and to help CMA with recruiting. Theon floor play of All three local kids he has recruited to date have far exceeded what the recruited experts had planned for them. Pinzon had had some very good games. If he too would have a strong rookie season it would bode well for coach in local recruiting. Here is to Pinzon being on the floor sooner than later.

Agreed 100% Redmennorth. I know it’s Pinzon’s private medical information but I wish we knew exactly what the issue was. Wishing him a speedy recovery and all the best!

SJU ranks 26th in the country and 2nd in the Big East in PPG. Didn’t even know that.
And #291 nationally in scoring defense
