I just came back from game and added a post to the Seton Hall topic. Therein I mentioned that I sat between Tarik Turner and Malik Boothe. Since Turner broadcasts and just completed the High School SNY games, I asked about Jermaine Lawrence (I had forgotten his name in my other post). Tarik said he had no real idea where Jermaine would wind up - for whatever this is worth.
And I mentioned to Malik Boothe how much he would have enjoyed playing on this team with Harrison, Sampson etc. - "my bad" - he smiled and said "No, I enjoyed playing with my teammates!" Good for him.
Maven was "it" in terms of recruiting information during the early years of redmen.com. And God forgive if you dared to disagree or challenge him: he was (and maybe still is) a nasty egotist who'd tear you apart and call you every foul name under the sun. He is connected, however, so his opinions still carry weight. And if he's tweeting that Lawrence will commit to UC, there very well might be something to it.

Let's let this play out. No need in hitting the panic button yet. SJU79 is usually very reliable with his info, and won't post something unless he has heard it from a good source. I've heard the same about Maven. Yes, the latter's tweet today and connection to Mini-mi Fran Savino means he probably has good info. But SJU79 usually does too. And let's remember that there were all kinds of rumors circulating about Jakar last year shortly before he committed. Reliable posters had heard that he was going to pop for either Providence or Kansas. I'm hoping that we hear nothing this weekend, because the longer it plays out the better for us IMO.

Um last time I checked he hasn't committed anywhere. Good or bad news, I never 100% believe the rumors but the fact that SJU79 who has been reliable says that he wants STJ and got that info directly from the family makes me still optimistic.

The C7 schools will still be in the Big East next year.
At Cincinnati next year Lawrence will be playing against St John's, Nova, G'town, Marquette, UCONN, Tulane, SMU, UCF...
In addition to the other C7 schools St John's will also be playing Tulane, SMU, UCF.
The following year one-and-done Jermaine Lawrence will be a millionaire playing in the NBA whereas if he was at St John's he could be playing against Butler, Xavier, possibly Dayton.
