There is still the NCAA hurdle but both kids are determined.
If both kids pass requisite classes from different schools, then there shouldn't be a problem qualifying. There is nothing mystical about it. I have no idea personally how many or which classes they need. I remember there was a report about it being 3 classes a piece, but don't know how accurate that is. Bottom line though, is that adding Garrett and Pelle changes our prospects for both this season and next season quite a bit. I wish both Pelle and Garrett success in their endeavors.
In addition, I'd really love for the staff to push for Amile Jefferson as a replacement for Sampson. More than even swap if Jakarr not fully on board. I'd still love Jakarr to land here and stay with the group of guys he was recruited with, but hopefully Amile still a target.

I certainly hope we do. Kid has big time talent and would shine here. Lavin will have him playing for nba dollars in a few years. I think we certainly have an advantage or two with Jakarr. He really likes our staff and has become friends with several of the guys on the team. He didn't decommit because he was homesick like Norvel. I'd like to make up ground and get him back on the team. He fits the type of game we want to play perfectly. IMO we can't do much better than having Sampson and Gathers back on board for next year, with Gift our sole returning senior big. Still room for one more true center type.
c'mon Jakarr. Time for a RE-commit to SJU!
