With his Thursday decision less than a day after his unofficial to St. John's, I wouldn't bet against the Johnnies with Isaiah Whitehead

I actually remembered Sheed and IW talking about teaming up on twitter after Sheed committed. Couldn't find the whole conversation but found this tweet back from may 7th

What's really funny was that a few weeks ago when everyone on this board had said we do not need Whitehead, I said it was a big loss. Now all of those same people are so excited and calling me a Troll. I want Whitehead at St John's more than any recruit in this class and think this is a turning point in the program's future success.

Man, IW to SJU would be incredible...Great staff to help get him to the pros, NYC pub, MSG, the Big East, etc...Just seems like a great fit...I would not be shocked at all if IW was leaning towards the Redmen all along and Lavin did his thing where he tells a recruit to go out and look at all the other schools and enjoy it and then get back together at the end and see where we're at
 
At this point I would assume Whitehead announcing anyone OTHER than SJU would be absolutely shocking right?

Was feeling good until you post that you ASSUME! You know what happens when you ASSUME don't you? You just put the malochio (sic?) on the whole thing! :)

I appreciate the effort, but that made me crack up haha...reminds me of Steve Erkel or some big red overalls. Love our new jerseys.

By the way, look at this move...for a guard listed as big as 6'5, he sure knows how to control his big frame and get to the basket. When he makes moves like spinning, etc. he looks very fluid and controlled. I remember hearing he was a bit older than recruits typically at his level. He might mature quicker if that's true.

He will be 19 in March. I wonder if he was held back.
 
One thing to remember about Isaiah Whitehead: He's been to St. John's a ton as a player. The campus isn't new.



While the school maybe just got back involved, St. John's recruited Whitehead early and there is a lot of familiarity there. #sjubb

Before I could see this post I was watching film on him and saw him playing half the video on campus at SJU. I was really confused but it felt right! :)
