Has a lot of predictions for SHU. What gets me a bit nervous is he ll get more PT at SHU. If Lavin decides to go w a 3 guard line up next year ,Whitehead will get his share of PT here.

Assuming everyone comes back and he's bigger than our returnees, I think the key is selling him on playing SF as a freshman, then moving to his natural position as a soph. Or perhaps not even letting him know that until he's on campus and it's too late to back out.

I don't think Lavin has to sell him as a sf. I think he has to sell him on a 3 guard line up, which would make a lot of sense if he commits.

Bingo. I feel the exact same way...play your best five no matter who they are.
No inside info, but I have a feeling Whitehead commits during the visit or right after. St. John's is a Final Four caliber team next year and that kind of winning in his hometown will make him a legend.

How good could SJU be in 2015 with a backcourt of Jordan (JR) and Whitehead (SO) to go with seniors Balamou, Jones, and maybe even Obekpa and/or Sampson?

I like to throw in a third person reference every few months for Moose. He loves it. That Seton Hall pic is killing me...not sure what is funnier between that pic and Joe3 posting that we were out of it. Only Joe!
 
Nobody on this board should be complaining if Marillac is right. He deserves to pat himself on the back if he nails this one.

Can't wait to hear how things go tomorrow, and Thursday can't come soon enough. This should be Coach at his best with the sell job, and I wouldn't want anyone else trying to close this out. Good luck to him and all of us.

It actually is a psychological thing people do...the first thing on your mind...kind of like the rorschach ink blots ;)

If he really picks us, that's TWO young 5 star guards we will have. 2 in the top 25 nationally. If he comes here, expecting sweet 16's is not one bit asking for too much. I think of how exciting it was to watch UConn with their 3 headed monster of Boatright, Napier, and Calhoun. We would have more than 3! Branch, Harrison, Jordan, Whitehead and Greene when he's on and gets his floater going can score 20 every so often. When I come home from work tomorrow, if he's a Johnnie this board will be in bliss! The media would also have to drool over us.

No. Just the wait.

It's obvious so many people know what's about to happen while we wait and read between the lines. Don't mind me. Just taken back by this turn of events.
 
Now would be when CR would give us a list of great guards that Lavin recruited to UCLA, how he got them to mesh together and sent them to the NBA. Hopefully, CR will be smiling down on us tomorrow afternoon.

Heck if he chooses us I'll pay myself on the back when I posted on this thread a few days ago that rumor Whitehead was gonna drop Seton Hall because someone sent him that pic of their fans that were stalking Kyle.

BTW Marillac that Seton fan pic is the best. I can never get enough of it when people put it up here
 
It really feels like the team under Lavin has been stripped down from a crappy old Toyota Corolla (my apologies if you drive one) rusting everywhere and buffed into a sparkling red Ferrari. New logos, new jerseys, new brand, new conference and hopefully a new culture of winning. Just a total makeover. If this program takes off as it should Lavin deserves all the credit for his last second come from behind recruiting victories. Landing Whitehead will cement him as the Mariano Rivera of the recruiting world.
