I don't understand why posters keep holding out hope that we have a shot at this kid. As his options seem to lessen with the recent commitments to some of his former suites, he seems to continually add others into the mix. It would have been nice to have gotten him but front court players have to be the priority in this recruiting class and this kid for what ever reason has not "shown the Johnnies the love" at this point at all.
 
I personally don't have much hope, but the Obekpa recruitment took a change in direction when SJU was viewed out of it. Thus, I can see why folks remain hopeful. No harm in that IMO.

Interesting that he said that but I'm pretty sure Lavin has moved on and won't get back in the picture unless word circulates that he wants to stay home.

By who, his handlers? It's obvious that this kid is looking for a one and done situation where can showcase his talents and then fly the coup. Man I hate what the college recruiting game has become. Thanks coach Cal, Handlers, Street Merchants, Sneaker Companies, AAU programs, Advisors and the rest of you out for your own gain waiting to have your palms greased. The whole process has just become sickening.

I dont think hes a one & done caliber guy no matter where he goes. With Harrison returning for his senior year, Whitehead would only be a role player as a frosh, but would be THE man at SJU as a soph. Dont know if he would be in the same position to be the clear number 1 guy as a soph at Indiana

I dont think hes a one & done caliber guy no matter where he goes. With Harrison returning for his senior year, Whitehead would only be a role player as a frosh, but would be THE man at SJU as a soph. Dont know if he would be in the same position to be the clear number 1 guy as a soph at Indiana

Me and you are in the minority here. Most think we're nuts for that opinion.
 
IW strikes me as a kid that will either opt for the NBA Draft way too soon or transfer colleges after his first year.

And he doesn't strike me as your typical Indiana Hoosier. Most of the Hoosiers are rather humble and IW has alot of cockiness to him (not trying to knock him; just an observation). Part of Oladipo's success came from the fact that he was so overlooked with no fanfare. And he had to work his butt off over the years because he wasn't as naturally talented as other players.

Crean is a psycho. He's beyond intense. I watched him conduct a practice on TV once and I was blown away at how high strung he was. I could easily see that rubbing IW the wrong way if indeed he goes to Indiana.

I don't think he has one and done talent. Not even if he came here.

He better pick a school whose system fits him the best and not because he's looking for who shows him the most love.

It looks like a very talented draft, though. If kids progress as expected, that might make things very tough. Wiggins is a prodigy and that PG from Australia that tore up FIBA are locks to go very early...not to mention Marcus Smart. It will be guys like Semaj Christon later in the draft that might force IW's hand to stay another year.

That is exactly what I think is going to happen (him getting screwed again due to another recruit committing before him)
