Is Obekpa Next? No! He's staying!

If any of you were a NBA GM, who would you pick between the 2? Jakarr or Chris?

Obekpa.

He may never be a star, but with his ability to block shots, he'll find his way to the end of some team's bench. Probably for a long time, too.

He won't block shots in the NBA
He's hardly big enough to be a power forward in the pros
He's too slow to guard NBA forwards and has no ability on the offensive end

He will lead the d league in goal tends and mocking smiles at the refs

Don't you just love the new "do" he rocked at the Robert Morris game?

No idea. I didn't watch the game.

After the great game he had against Robert Morris, maybe Max will want to join his buddy Jakarr and declare for the draft

Irony.....

Max left Harvard to play with his buddy Jakarr and make it the NCAA tourney. Instead, he watched Harvard play in the tourney and his friend walk out the door.

At least Hooper is getting a better education.

Better than at Harvard?

CO is exponentially more important to us than Sampson would have been for 2014-2015. He is a better rebounder, screener, shot-blocker, defender, and he actually plays his position and can score down low. Sampson chose to shoot 15 footers and that left us with one less big man to rebound. Sampson's shooting %s are so skewed due to all of his dunks. He's probably under 40% on the jumpers alone and I'd so much rather have those attempts go to Harrison, Jordan, Branch, and Greene with two bigs down low to rebound.

Outside of CO, we got no defense from the four and five spots.
We got absolutely no production from the three all season in any area.
Mason solves #2 and CO with another big solves #1. Fingers crossed.

... I'd settle for Eric Brooks, Jayson Williams and the Caldera twins about now. Oh yeah throw in Buzz Matthews he's a little older but could probably still score.

You'd "settle for" Jayson Williams? Are we talking about the same Jayson Williams?

NBA? obekpa ? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh that's a good one

Sadly, Tux, it's not what we, or NBA scouts, think about Obekpa; it's what Obekpa thinks about the NBA. (See Jakarr Sampson, Omar Cooke, etc., etc., ad nauseum.)

Maybe these kids think there are seven rounds like the NFL?
Sampson might not get picked if there were 3 rounds.

Teams usually run the risk of losing players to the NBA after a good season.

We lose players to the NBA draft after a bad season

Such is the life of a St Johns fan

whoever is advising these people need to be prosecuted. This is like a freshmen accounting student with a 2.0 GPA leaving school to try and get an upper level job in the comptrollers office.

Who is this Mason that you keep referring to?

Mason alluded to possibility in early March, but there has been nothing since.
