As Knicks fans, we all know that cap space alone means squat. I'm sure they've mortgaged most of their future draft picks to appease LBJ.

They actually own all their future picks except next year's first which is the last chip of the AD trade.

I don't bellieve this is for leverage. I think he is genuinely interested in the job.

I think he would prefer this opportunity a few years from now but he cannot just pick when you want something to happen.

So this is probably why it will be tough for him either way.

I am sure if he stays he will get a nice bump in pay but it won't come close to what he can make in the NBA obviously. Also I don't think he wants to hamstring UCONN by demanding something ridiculous they probably can't afford and thus would hurt the program by leaving less for his staff and other things. UCONN has money but they don't have Kentucky or Louisville money or some of the other big football schools.

I predict he takes the Lakers job. The process seems pretty far along. He told his players today, because he is flying out to sign the contract.

Agreed if Monty Williams got 6 years $78M from the Pistons you can't tell me that the Lakers don't have $10.5M annually to double Hurley's salary. I think the bigger question is does UConn stay in house. And if they don't with Hurley, Young, and Murray all gone you could see an exodus faster than after a Pitino opening presser!
