Agree that Hofstra will be motivated. When CMA was fired there were "rumors" that Claxton really wanted the SJU job. He will have his team ready for this game. Hope we come out strong like the Fordham game and not have this one decided in the last five minutes.
If we are any bit the team that played against Xavier and UConn we should win easily.

I think for most fans , CA was obsolete 40 some odd years ago . It’s hindsight but , the University decided to build dorms , instead of a new Gym.

I don’t get why the School doesn’t get it that CA is actually a Anchor to progress of the Pitino era .
Why do Seton Hall play their Games in Newark and G’Town at the Cap Center ? They abandoned their on Campus facilities years ago .
In my opinion , that is what needs to happen for St John’s .

Decide to commit playing most games at MSG and some at UBS . Forget Barclays in Brooklyn .
I have seen the adverse posts about a 1/ 2 empty MSG and expensive parking and traffic at UBS .

But , those are obstacles to be overcome . Winning will bring more fans to MSG and hopefully scheduling can be managed to not play many weekday games there , unless it’s G’Town , Nova , UCOnn , Marquette , PC, Creighton .

The lower tier BE games would be played at UBS . And , the school should try and get as many games at MSG on Sat or Sunday afternoons or early evening .

Of course , easy for me to say . I live in SCarolina and get to NY infrequently . Just to see family . Not BB .

I agree people will show up to UBS if we start winning, but I would still get rid of it and just keep MSG and CA. How many teams play at 3 home venues? It can't be helpful to the team to have more than two home courts.

My opinion is to delete CA for any games . Just 2 venues . MSG and UBS . The difficulty of UBS might be helped by Shuttle Buses from Campus to UBS .

Like they do for most Golf Events in the Area . It works pretty well . I have no idea how expensive that would be .

Apologies, I misread you. Assuming we could eventually pull a decent crowd at UBS, to take that over CA, the school better subsidize the $50 parking!

Would love to play a big annual or semi-annual game at Arthur Ashe. There is plenty of free parking and public transit.

Barclays is just awful.

UBS has some promise only if it’s part of a season ticket plan. The more we win the more we will draw and Pitino always wins year 2.

If St. John’s was smart they would trade some advertising for a local business for parking and setup a some shuttles from that lot to the arena.

I dont think you can find too many places close enough with space big enough to make it worthwhile for more than a few dozen cars.

I passed by UBS last night on Hemp Take on way back from Donovan's Pub in Woodside (absolutely great burger btw) taking my dad back to his house in Franklin Square.

Just happened to be at end of Islander game going on. I saw that quite a few groups of fans were doing the Uber thing as I saw then getting into cars pulling up by gas station and Dunkin Donuts and just on Turnpike

Totally agree with your mostly MSG (especially weekends / afternoon) & UBS approach and also that Winning will bring back the fans.

At first press conference Rick indicated that he wants ALL BE games at the Garden and that it was too late in MSG scheduling to achieve that for this season. He's also said Alabama at MSG is possible next season.

Maybe play 1 BE Game (DePaul or Butler), Fordham and/or Hofstra at UBS, and a couple of "cupcakes" at CA, if necessary.

In recent years I think the CA Home Court advantage has been overstated (other than the "cupcake games"). Last season we Lost 4 0f 6 BE games played at CA.

UBS will be a viable venue, once the parking cost issue is solved.

I think the priority is a colony on Mars but I agree shortly after that the parking cost issue will be solved and change things for the better.

Not a issue . All I’m saying is the Campus isn’t that far from UBS . The Major Golf Tournaments have all gone to Shuttle Buses to get people to and from and works well .

I’m not advocating UBS for a majority of games . Certain BE bottom. Dwellers and some Low end OOC games .

If Pitino upgrades the OOC schedule to bring in UCLA , Indiana, Kansas , NC , Duke and maybe Gonzaga , all those games would be at MSG .

Back in the day , bringing in those Teams to play in the Garden was special .

Tremendous burger.

If just 2 people take the train from Huntington to MSG off peak that’s like $52. I’m the one usually complaining about everything non MSG and I don’t mind going to UBS now at all. If money is an issue drive to Mineola pay the $6 for parking and hop on a train that’s maybe 10 minutes. Or just start up a redfan carpool. That would be pretty interesting :)

I get your point but CA is a lot bigger than

i get your point but CA is a twice the size of McDonough Arena (Gtown) or Walsh Gym (SHU). It would be hard to play in the Big East and host games at any games at those two places.

In truth, I don’t really mind a bandbox type on campus arena, but even at 5600 CA is too and too wonky to really work.

The RAC or whatever they call it now, is old, wonky, with terrible parking but with 8 or 9k filled to the brim it can be a really positive experience. I’d be a happy guy if we had an on campus arena like that for non-conference games and UConn (because f’em) and played all the rest at MSG.

All that aside playing Hofstra and Fordham is better than playing Sacred Heart and Holy Cross and I hope in the future we continue to schedule locals and drop one or two gimme games and add higher quality locals like Rutgers, princeton, or Iona.

No fun looking for parking near King Umberto’s.
I admittedly haven't lived in Elmont in decades, and Evans Ave. was always a tight squeeze near Hempstead Turnpike, but the side streets between the arena and Meacham Ave. should have something.
