Hate to think this... but would any of these bigger budget schools come looking for someone who has never had a losing season and a COY in his 2nd season...?
Damn, just thinking of that has put me in a bad mood again. Thanksbucketshardy post=426419 said:Hate to think this... but would any of these bigger budget schools come looking for someone who has never had a losing season and a COY in his 2nd season...?
Indiana would not surprise me. They still feel like they are an elite program and now need to make a big move after having treaded water with Archie Miller.SLYFOXX1968 post=426410 said:Rick Pitino has just accepted the Job at Minnesota . Replacing his son Richard . Rick has also accepted the Coaching job at DePaul , Indiana and any other school looking for a Coach . Not as far fetched as it seems . Each new job opening up is better than the first one .. Rick is too slick , not to realize that .. He could be a 1 and done at Iona .
I hate to start crazy talk, or perpetuate it, but Rick Pitino has played or coached in the Boston area 4 times - UMass as a player, Boston University, Providence, Celtics as a head coach. I would think he could inject a decent amount of energy and success into BC, where his son could join him as associate hc and coach in waiting.Section3 post=426425 said:Indiana would not surprise me. Have to say, Pitino landing in BE, perhaps at DePaul, raises the league’s profile which is good for the teams that are making the requisite commitment.
They filled the BC jobbeast of the east post=426426 said:I hate to start crazy talk, or perpetuate it, but Rick Pitino has played or coached in the Boston area 4 times - UMass as a player, Boston University, Providence, Celtics as a head coach. The only Minnesota teams I can remember are the ones that played ferocious defense, so I could see him fitting that mold with better athletes at his disposal.lawmanfan post=426414 said:No clue about Minnesota. Maybe Moser if he doesn't wind up at DePaul?
Pitino would win a national championship at DePaul. The recruiting area is fertile enough to do so.Section3 post=426425 said:Have to say, Pitino landing in BE, perhaps at DePaul, raises the league’s profile which is good for the teams that are making the requisite commitment.

I'd assume DePaul throws the cash at him, it just makes too much sense for both parties. Though you can usually count on DePaul screwing things up, it's what they do.
I'd bet on Beilien to Indiana, that's basically a perfect match.

There has been smoke for a while that former UK & current Knicks assistant Kenny Payne is the guy for DePaul

Dennis Gates could be in the mix for DePaul
