Head Coaching Changes

The Brannen news out of Cincy does not look real.

Sounds like someone created a burner account and faked a lot people.

Those same Texas boosters are going to go all in on Chris Beard from TT.  IU is interested as well.  We'll be interesting since Texas is now the best job open next to Indiana.

Rumors are Texas boosters pushed him out...

I don't know why Beard would leave for either one of those schools.  I know, the almighty dollar.  But from a pure basketball standpoint, what has either one of those schools done lately?

They are schools that think they are a lot better than what they are just because of the name on their jerseys...similar to Notre Dame in football.

I'm still on the Shaka bandwagon & think this is a really good fit. Will be interesting to see if he brings the VCU Havoc style to Marquette.

Hoping DePaul will also make a good hire. Ultimately I'd rather see Big East programs flourish then some of these other conferences

I agree the better the Big East is the better it is for every team in the conference especially when comes to NCAA seeding and quad 1 and 2 games. I think DePaul goes hard after Porter Moser now. I think they throw a lot of money at him and I think he takes it. He’s a Chicago guy and that’s the only reason he didn’t take the job here.

Going to Texas was great for his bank account, but if he had stayed at VCU he would have won 26+ a game and gone to tournament every year. I truly believe that the trajectory he was on would have gotten him an interview with UNC when Williams finally hangs it up. Spending the next 25 years at Marquette isn't so bad of a fallback plan, but if he had had just a little more patience . . .

Same could be said about Archie Miller and Dayton.  Look, hard to turn down really good high profile jobs even if they come with a lot of downside.  I think Archie Miller is a good coach who definitely did not succeed at IU but who I think will resurface elsewhere.  Places like that especially IU are a fishbowl.

If I am Porter Moses, I am thinking there are easier places to win than at DePaul.  I think he will have some better options.

They tried to go inside their conference?  Dirty move. I hope the ADs and Presidents had a chat before he was talked to.
