Harvard, Sat., Nov. 30, 5p, Peacock

Brady played 24 minutes and only took 4 shots, Glover played 19 minutes and took 10, Sim played 27 and took 8. Brady did not hurt us by his shooting. Unfortunately, I think he suffers a bit from stereotyping which is never a good thing.
I get what you are saying but he has little else to offer on offense. He doesn't take ball up, doesn't dribble, doesn't take it up under glass. Just an occasional cut & layup besides the 3's that he's streaky on game to game.

He limits our offense if he can't keep defense honest.

He does take the ball up a few times a game to be fair, and the guys trust him enough to set the offense.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this RSNC. I think our coach sees his value. He is not a guard; Scott doesn't take the ball up or dribble either but is extremely valuable despite a poor game tonight. Brady is shooting 38% from three after tonight. That would be a solid % for the year. He is a very solid 7th man imho

On the way back from the game. Thanks for bucketshardy and JohnnyPirate.

Some quick thoughts:
— Crowd was pretty good but not many students and basically lifeless most of the game. A lot of kids and family.
— Food trucks were nice, but it was freezing. Not sure how utilized they’ll be.
— Thought it was the type of game where it is hard to really gauge much. We were just so much taller, bigger and longer than them, plus the skill disparity, that we were kind of just playing around. Obviously you want more, but I’m not going really knock the team or get worried at all. There was no energy from the crowd to give either, which doesn’t help.

— Pitino and others are right. Glover playing a lot of minutes and hitting shots is more valuable than anything else we could’ve gained from the game.
— I’m not convinced Dunlap is a good shooter but I am convinced his most valuable traits is being a glue guy doing the small things. But he’s going to have to hit shots against more athletic teams to get more consistent playing time.
— Liked that Kadary and RJ played under control, and Zuby exerted himself more in second half.

Next week’s game will be a more prudent time to gauge where the teams currently at, but I’ll remain optimistic

The other issue is that the team doesn’t really have a reliable outside threat so people mistakenly look to him for help in this area.

Well the LMF report is that Pitino isn't happy with the players and they aren't happy with him. It is entirely possible that the old school approach to coaching is not the route to success in this era.

That unhappiness is also translating to the lack of connection between the players on the floor, and unlike last year the leadership characteristics of this squad are much different.

In my opinion the best offensive option for this team is to give Richmond the ball at the top of the key. He will either make a mid range shot, get to the rim, or find the open man off some action. Having him in the corner for stretches is just bizarre to me.

It's wonderful that Glover hit some shots but people who think he's ready to be an actual player against legit competition need to remember that there's more to the game than shooting. He should progress but his defense and court awareness need a LOT of work.

Team continues to seem structurally unsound to me and today Pitino was obviously casting about for fixes to things he should have considered when recruiting.

I think in the end it will get figured out and we will be OK but I don't have a high degree of confidence. The degree of unhappiness and friction (and my vantage point is not far from the bench and the huddle) was fairly alarming.
