Hardship Waivers

I'm sure this will drag out for weeks to torture us all until eventually dying on the vine just like everything else with this program. In related news, I'm ready for the weekend.
Maybe it's just my perception, but does this consistently happen with other programs? It seems information breaks out and then fans are left to sit on it waiting for official word constantly. Maybe tying up some loose ends with Cragg and Heron waiting for a certain day to announce this week.
I tweeted back and forth with Zach B a few minutes ago. With Cragg he maintains no hiccups and expects announcement today, though he said the same thing yesterday. With Heron he says best sense is nothing has happened beyond "positivity". I asked if Ponds jumped the gun and that was the response. So perhaps hold off on popping the champagne? Not looking to poop on the party, but we should have all learned by now with this program not to celebrate until the ink is dry and there is official word.
Why do beat reporters tweet with fans? Well I know fans think they are getting inside scoops, and sometimes they do get some advance information and also a lot of opinion. Beat reporters also are looking for any insights that the staff won't share, and then start rumors off them. Our fans think they are getting great inside info from them and feel like they are important interacting with them. For the most part, many are hacks and I have no use for them.
Yes, this is why I asked him questions - because I wanted to think I am important. Dude, you literally can't post anything without slipping in an insult. Why? Did I insult you in some way without knowing it? If I did, I apologize.
Honestly, it wasn't directed at you. For the most part, except for a very tiny number of users, I respond to the post without considering the author, and instead just respond to the content of the post. Sorry if you feel I insulted you personally on this one, no intent. Just a personal gripe - some beat writer lurk on this board to pick up dirt, and then write about it as fact or original content. It just grates because they write it as if it is an orginal thought and much of it as just banter they pick up from here and other places.
Fair enough - appreciate and accept the apology. Carry on.

Agree with beast of the east re the last second loss to Syr. What makes it worse for me is my recollection that Rencher could have thrown a one bounce pass to Carter who was about 15 ft away from Rencher and unguarded instead of letting Syr foul him.
This would have wound the clock down further when Syr went to foul Carter and Syr would have had to attempt a three quarter court pass or low percentage shot.
It still hurts.

Not to mention that we should have had our guys off the line and defending. HTF Syracuse could push the ball up so fast to a wide open Orr (can still see MArty Head pushing the ball up on the left side of our key and passing ahead to Orr on the Utopia side basket on the right, still astounds me.

I don't know if this topic is for hardship transfers or transfers in general
but Matt Brust from NC was a decent "get" at at time we needed players.

My read on Ponds’ tweet and Keita’s Instagram blurb is that Heron likely heard something from his lawyer that ‘it’s looking good and will be soon’, or something like that, and the guys immediately buzzed that out.
Then, with no immediate follow-through, guys backtracked.
I’ll take that as a ‘posiitve’ leak that great news is probably coming.

Mustapha Heron's request for medical hardship waiver is at the "two yard line."
One more hurdle, but it was positioned to me as a formality. University fully expecting former Auburn star to suit up in Queens this season.

As a result, expectations rightfully soar for #SJUBB.

Yup

Beast of the East and Redken and others who I can't recall mentioned the need for some type of pictures etc. to honor the past teams and players who may not rate a pennant like the few that hang in CA. but who have made considerable contributions to a school that has always been proud of its' rich tradition.
From the Lapchick teams of the mid forties, the Frank McGuire teams of the late forties/ early fifties and all the great players who played at SJU for the past hundred years not even a picture?
Unfortunately most of the players will have past on but the more I think about it the worse it feels.

These are the types of posts that are going to really devastate those on here who haven't been paying attention to the last 25 years of ST John's basketball.
WE ARE ST JOHN'S!

Most of the listings have pics some have lots of pics. I believe you may need to be logged in to see the media - pictures and video.

Two yard line? Too bad it's basketball we're talking about. Maybe we're at the free throw line.

I expect a bunch of these positive Heron eligible posts and rumors leading up to season opener followed by seeing Heron in a snazzy jump suit opening night. Then the posts and rumors will get angrier and more desperate leading up to the December announcement that he is not eligible this year.

Hopefully a lay up attempt instead.

I went through a couple of pages and of course there were those who I didn't know who were before my time and others during my time I forgot about. I did see Crafton Ferguson and it that is the same one that went to Andrew Jackson H.S. (now and maybe even by then none as Campus Magnet H.S.), I don't recall him ever being at St. John's. I remember him going out to the mid or north west.

But I truly thank ESPKEN who I haven't seen post on this Board in ages. Really nice to see this kind of list.

And sadly, just like the rest of us, every living ex-player who deserves to be honored isn't getting any younger.

Defending your crappy prediction my contrarian friend? :) This happens next week or so, trust me.

I heard this same story about Lovett the year he sat out. Sanchez too, probably missing one or twelve more.
Color me skeptical.
Just to be clear not anti ST John's prediction but anti NCAA when it comes to ST John's prediction.
If my sign on were WE ARE DUKE, KANSAS OR NORTH CAROLINA I would be much more positive about this.
