Hardship Waivers

Obviously would love for him to be eligible. Even if not I think we make the tourney anyway. But here is how I would rank our chances:
1. 50% ruled ineligible sometime in December-just to keep everyone's hope up into the season before they stick the knife in. Plus this would make the board an interesting place what with all the posts somehow blaming Mullin for this right before everyone turns on Paultzman. ;)

2. 20% ruled eligible sometime in December.- This would elevate the board as well what with the posts about Heron getting pulled out of class and put on a plane to Indy to play Butler. Then when he shoots 2-9 with 3 to's reading all the posts about how he stinks anyway.

3. 10% ruled ineligible before season-. Duck Paultz!

4. 10% ruled eligible before season starts.

5. 10% NCAA makes no ruling as Mitch Richmond was responsible for submitting Hardship waiver paperwork and no one knows where he is.

From your mouth to God's ears!

That's a great point, we are sju.
Mustapha has said he wants to get his degree, and one would think the NBA would be out-of-reach, having been off the court all year, except for practices.
So Europe would be a potential option, or as unlikely as it is, maybe he plays out his college career at St. John's in 2019-20 to reinsert himself into the NBA picture?

With all these other guys getting waivers it seems to be a no brainer thet Heron will be eligible, especially when you consider how many "dirty" programs are out there and thriving. NCAA doesnt need the lawsuit and bad press that will follow and ineligible ruling...

Psst, mentions that to 'you-know'who', johnny!
Seriously, yeah one would think that, in this sea change time frame of changing transfer rules.
Hoping 'logic' and 'fairness' prevail.

Bit odd how long this is taking...if the news really did leak early that he got cleared with Ponds posting it on Instagram, wouldn't it only be days after when it would become official? Usually if something leaks early, the official announcement is imminent i.e. within days not weeks or months. Some people including myself are considering season tickets contingent on him being eligible. Just seems like we are in slow motion here with hiring an AD (thank god that worked out very well in the end), waiting for waiver announcement, and even waiting to hear who the performer will be for midnight madness just days before it begins. Not being negative here, just making an observation and even the most patient of us must be getting nervous.

Hope Chicago Days gets his wish and MH is cleared on his daughter's upcoming birthday. Would not want to be left hoping it comes as a treat rather than trick on Halloween.

Nah, you are being negative. Not in the school's control regarding the timing/waiver grant process. You're certainly being negative about the performer too, unless you're actually just "getting nervous" about who it will be?

How is it the schools fault the NCAA hasn't ruled on it yet?

Again why are you hanging on to what Ponds posted? He has nothing to do in this matter. If the communication does not come from SJU nothing is certain. Like I said a couple weeks ago, our fans do not let things play out!!!

Who cares who the performer is, that day is for the students not us. We had our time. When they do announce who it is people are still going to complain because thats just what SJU fans do.

Days - another Chicago thing in common, my daughter's birthday is also tomorrow 10/10. In fact she was born on 10/10/10. The stars are too much in alignment for this to not happen tomorrow at this point.
