Well Coach Jones of LSU is slowly bringing his freshmen around and they look way better than early in they year.
Beating Kentucky is always a treat. Guys like Brazille of the Post were killing him

To Zach's defense, Jones is known to do very little with the above average talent he usually has.
Matchup of Briscoe vs. Brandon Sampson on ESPN. Well that's if Sampson actually plays (didn't in the first half). Briscoe a one trick pony right now as he can only drive to the hoop. Doesn't shoot 3's and is shooting 39% from the FT line. Also is playing the 2 guard role which probably suits him better than PG.

Cheick Diallo started in Kansas' blowout loss to Oklahoma St. tonight. Only played 12 minutes with 4 points, 2 rebounds.

They lost to college of charleston by double digits, with that talent. Jones deserved everything that was said about him after that game.
And still, let's not get crazy. They are 9-5 with one good win at home. Vanderbilt has collapsed this year, and that isn't even a good win now.
Having seen LSU several times, I think Brandon is in for a long year. LSU is so poorly coached & has a number of selfish players, like Blakeney. Samp is really a team first type kid & is seeing playing time diminish lately. Additionally, another player returning from injury will further complicate things for him. Do wish this smooth shooter success, but he may regret his choice. LSU lost last night to College of Charleston, ouch!
Briscoe made right choice & is getting solid minutes for Cal. He has really embraced playing defense and should have a good season. He is much better off the ball, especially complementing Ulis, a far better PG option.
Could be wrong, but I don't see Diallo having major impact at Kansas. He is raw offensively & his best assets may be blocking shots & running the floor.
LSU may have some selfish players but Ben Simmons looks like the ultimate team player. Whats he averaging like 5 assists per game? He will be a very good pro one day.
Imagine he played for a real coach
Thanks for the update guys. As we all know, it is still early (teams haven't played ten games yet), and it is easy for stats to fluctuate in a small sample of games. Players are going to have bad games. There were some on this Board who were ready to write Federico off based on a bad exhibition performance.
All four of the young men mentioned int this thread so far (Diallo, Sampson, Rowan and Briscoe) would have been fine additions to this team and will all probably have nice college careers no matter how long those careers turn out to be. Although a year older, I would included Carrington of Seton Hall as he was ours up until the previous staff stopped recruiting him.
As for the one and done talk, as we have all seen too often, it does not matter what we think (and sometimes what the pros think) its what the young men ultimately think and decide. Many fans also base their opinion on whether someone is one and done on their current ability and if they are NBA ready now. NBA teams also look at potential and where that player will be two years down the line especially if they don't see anyone available at their draft slot who would make a big difference immediately.
Diallo's strange year at KU continues: 4 minutes of PT in tonight's loss to Iowa State, with 0's across the board.

And in comparison, look at the kind of minutes Yakwe is getting as well as experience out there. So while we lost Diallo, I love what I see out of Yakwe. His ceiling is extremely high with his athletic ability.

As much as KY has to further refine his offensive skills, he, in my opinion, has better shooting form & fundamentals than Diallo. That may be unfair, since CD has not been playing, but I still believe his main assets are running the floor & shot blocking. I really like Yakwe's upside on both ends of the floor.
