Guys on Matt’s Radar
Are all these transfers actually on Matt's radar, or just throwing out names?
All anyone knows about what Matt is doing is via his Twitter feed. The other coaches are too busy recruiting to post on Twitter.
Yes, folks are just throwing out names because our system of selecting players basically involves throwing spaghetti against the wall.

Well, spaghetti 'can be' a sticky substance!

Virginia Head Coach Buzz Williams will have an in-home visit with former Kennesaw State guard James Scott this Sunday. Scott has two years of eligibility remaining.

Likely destination imo
Thought Tony Bennett was HC of Virginia so do you mean Va Tech or UVA?
Va Tech

Nah, he is working on visits for some of guys noted. May not be folks we get crazy about but, giving credit where due, MA is working I know. Rest of staff, don’t know.

I do think Femi would be a great 'get'.
Exactly what we need and perhaps--teaming or tagging with Keita--would give us solid bulk under the boards.

Staff (1) working hard on Femi & a talented SF with three years remaining. We’ll see.

Zach B tweeted today some of the staff's transfer targets aren't known yet.

We need an imposing PF (not another all-stretch-no-4 please) but we also need a bigger/taller addition. Seems like we go into just about every game undersized but Tariq had some height and reach if getting pushed around or non-existent inside. A couple of 6'8 guys going against multiple 6'10 + guys might be an improvement if they have some muscle, athleticism and can establish position but trading one deficiency for another if our biggest guy is 6'8". Even if they play these guys 90% why can't we get a +/-7 footer with some muscle to take up space and give/draw some fouls?

Would guess starting with open recruiting period starting Th., staff will be on road a few days.

Beggars can't be choosers. I'd love 2 skilled 7'0 rebound-hungry big men with great post moves--but with "1 fisherman" as Paultz says, and given the feeding-frenzy for players still available at this point, I'd be delighted getting Femi.
He seems like a load underneath and can score.
I agree getting 2 quality big guys should be our priority, but maybe staff (Matt!) thinks this wing with 3 years left (Phil Caraher?) is skilled and provides depth after next year?
We need to win next year.
Then maybe we'll have 'some' recruiting leverage.

FYI starting Thursday at noon coaches can recruit and visits can start happening. But actual recruiting at AAU events, ie Live Period, cannot occur except for those 2 weekends at end of month 20-22 and 27-29, otherwise known as Evaluation Periods. These next weekends will be filled with visits by late signing recruits and transfers.

How many would the "staff" consist of?

Sense Femi O for quick visit perhaps this weekend

FYI, Caraher’s dad lives in NYC apparently. Kid is from Chapel Hill.

if Matt can pull off 2 grad transfer bigs ( and I believe that is what he is targeting) then that will make us more competitive next year and winning only helps recruiting. That being said I still dislike the recruiting philosophy because it just pushes back the recruiting clock 1 year . Also I think the turnstile will start up again soon Next years team is going to look different then people think IMO.
