That's tied for fourth in the conference. And oh yeah, the defense was much worse when he was in there......... lol

Hope we all got this game out of our system with all the vents posted today. The main question is what does the staff do with this group to form a team?

My opinion is, we cannot play slow ever. we do not have the ability to handle this type of game. We are athletic and must run from the start. Never stop push the ball at all times and press use our speed. That is all we have. We have no basketball smarts or the ability to put the ball in the hoop unless it is a layup.

Use our skills not what we can't do.

The staff must wake up and smell the coffee or get out of town.

This my last year for season tickets and donations if there is no progress the remainder of the year.

Not good. I see plenty of coaches give half a hand shake with a pissy look on their face. That was a big effen smile. He looks way to happy for a guy who's kids just got beat up. Thats my first negative Lavin post. I'm spitting shit through my teeth and he's happy go lucky. I hope for the kids that they can get through games without being embarrassed.

I think that Bus left Port Authority quite some time ago... For the most part these are 3 yr players with little complimentary skills.. Coaches are paid to improve the player's skills in the concept of team play. That hasn't happened and does not appear this Coaching group is up to it..

You're right, the results under this Coach have been suspect since this group of players arrived, after the Hardy team..

Today's performance was a horrible effort from everyone connected with the Team. They were not ready to play from the first whistle..

And, the starting lineup was baffling..You begin to worry about Lavin's competency for that lineup alone.


Every fan, alum, New Yorker was embarrassed today.. We've endured horrible basketball for over 11 years now.. More if you count the last few Jarvis years. It's enough.

What? He doesn't look like a coach on the hot seat?
He has absolutely zero fear that he'll lose his job. If he did he wouldn't mess around with the lineups so much.
He should be coaching for his job this season, instead he's going through the motions.
 
I have followed SJU basketball for 60 years, today is one of the most embarrassing games I can remember. How do you start a walkon and act when surprised when you put Hooper in and act surprised when he pops 3 out of 4 from behind the arc? What to heck is going on. This is not a Laboratory!

There were more embarrassing games but expectations were less. 3rd year for vaunted recruiting classes and top paid staff shouldn't have games like this.
 
We had 17 more shot attempts. Must be the result of Hoyas going to the line so much. Sampson lead us in assists with 2. Thats a telling number.
 
Smith -Rivera and Starks took our guys to the Potomac and drowned them today. Hate to say it because there is much blame to go around but, DLO worse than awful today in a big game, he came up small, 1-12 fg shooting 0-5 3 pt shooting..

Reliance on him and Sampson for offense, without establishing the 3 other guys in the offense isn't working..Sloppy, undisciplined one on one basketball is what Steve put on the Court today..
 
Another "taken to the shed" game, coach. G-town has taken Lavin to the shed every game.

Outplayed, outcoached, outclassed, peace out... Wow. Another depressing season for SJU basketball. Man, we just stink.. Plain and simple.

NIT probably not! Lavin is a total idiot and obviously an abomination as a coach. I really believe our kids didn't know G'town was playing a zone, afterall, we had three guards outside passing the ball back and forth. And how about their pathetic effort in breaking the press. Even the announcers couldn't understand why they didn't have someone come to the middle of the court. Oh by the way did you enjoy our usual poor defense against the 3 pointers.
Do we really think we will get top recruits with our sad results thus far? Lavin, please take a job with ESPN. Obviously, the UCLA fans weren't wrong about this poor example of a basketball coach. And wipe that smile off your face.
 
I hate Georgetown. St. John's needs to look in mirror and remember this game. They killed them on court and then continued to push them around while the refs let it happen.

Those two technicals were not our fault but reminded me of the Poppa Thompson's old teams. Looked like the old Hoya dirt bags.
