Georgia, Sun., Nov. 24, 11am, CBSSN

I root for the Johnnies as hard as anyone and am not ready to throw the season away by any means, but let's be real. Marquette beat Georgia comfortably (by 11), no way they took them down to the wire. Today was a bad loss, period end of story.
Marq did not play three games in your days. They were in Atlantis days before game and had opportunity to practice on that court which was unique.

Curious... would say most posts on here don't view Georgia in a favorable light... and don't consider them to be a "good" team....

Where do you feel a "mediocre" / "ordinary" College bball team falls in terms of rankings...?

I personally would slice this into thirds...
Top100 = a Good team for me/capable of winning any game.... Top 30 of that- we are talking a very good team/potentially ranked....
100-200= "OK" team...
200+= Losing to these teams is a resume hurting loss

Right now... New Mexico is 53 and Georgia is 56 in KenPom... will be interesting to see where things shake out in 2 months time, but i don't feel Georgia will be a Michigan/BC level loss for us...
That’s true Bucketshardy, it won’t be as bad as last year but it was still a missed opportunity to get a win against an NCAA tournament team. The committee puts a lot of emphasis on that. Last year we only beat one team that made the NCAA tournament and that was Creighton at home. We can’t have that this year. The Big East has four teams ranked this week. UConn, Marquette, Creighton and Xavier, hopefully they stay ranked. We need at least one win against each of those teams to not be on the bubble. We also can’t lose to a DePaul or a Georgetown even though they are improved. The Baylor and Georgia games would have given us breathing room. Now we have none. That’s all I’m saying. We have a very talented group of guys this year. If there ever was a year we can dig ourselves out of this it’s this year. We could even legitimately have a chance to win the Big East Conference Tournament this year which we really haven’t had. Opportunities will still be there hopefully, but we’ve already squandered two and that’s what’s so frustrating. Every opportunity we squander the noose gets tighter and tighter. When was the last time we won a big OOC game? It’s early now but this team needs to get right because it will be late before you know it. That’s what happened to last years team.

If go 8-3 non con( Yes have them losing to K State) would need to go 12-8 in BE ( I had us at 11-9) and have to win a BET game to feel safe IMO.
If we lose to K-State. We need to either finish top 3 in Big East or win the Big East Tournament. We MUST beat K-State at home. If we don’t, we deserve nothing. Your scenario puts us in the same exact position that we were in last year. It will render the same result.

Last thing(s)....
1) Most(some) of you know my Deivon connections...he's a competitive kid and please don't believe everything as facts.
2) I haven't seen as many SJ games as i'd like to but Rick is as good as it gets. I know(read here)some have questioned a few things( only one i agree with is having ppl on line during Zuby FT).. he's old school and plays the long game. In talking with other coaches they are still in awe of his in game adjustments.
3) Only thing i'd bet my mortgage on is my wife will yell at me today for something, i'll get a call from some kid wanting more money, i'll get a call from a coach complaing that kid wants more money and my day will end with a JW Black on the rocks!
This is a good team. They will be a tournament team. You guys are a great passionate fan base so I get it all. You also are lucky to have a fair informed beat reporter in Zack and some really good fans with podcasts who are close to
program. Ultimately i'm not an insider nor however are a few ppl i get fowarded posts and misinformation from.
I for one love Devon’s game, his defense, hustle, intensity, rebounding, passing and I think he can score enough to keep defenses honest.

Can't lose to K St, there's no ifs about it.

I gave Pitino a pass last year because he came late and not much time to recruit, this year we need to make the tournament, that's why we hired Rick, he got it done at every school.
