Where are those stories? Link?
In my twitter chatter discussions, which I'm not at liberty to discuss. If anyone listened to Ryan Patrick's spaces last night, the incident at the airport is there. My twitter discussion was told to me by someone sitting in the first row behind the team bench.

Rick needs to set up plays for Dunlap where he would be in a position to have undefended, unrushed shots then he will kill it all day long! He does not shoot well off the dribble! Set up plays where he is free on the wings and he will give you 10-12 pts a game! This entire offense of ours is rush rush rush frankly I can’t stand it!
Everyone in world knows Brady a one trick pony. Easier said than done. Plus he is missing open shots. He is not a lock down shooter.

Kadary and his foul shooting are indicative of his overall game. Lacks the concentrated effort to put the ball in the basket. It goes to his state if mind during games, whether it be lazy passes, sloppy ball handling, going to the hoop off-balance, etc. Just playing to collect his check but checking out while playing.
Luis has become our go to player and Zuby has become a beast. The new guys who chased the NIL $ to get here are mercenaries who don't give a crap about the name of the front of their jersey.
These are going to be guys that get dropped or traded mid-season in Europe throughout their careers.
NIL deals needs a performance clause to weed out some transient loafers.
News flash. Zuby, Luis, Scott all here because of better nil deals. Smith has played his butt off.

The are exactly the kind of shots he got yesterday and missed, wide open and uncontested. So, I don't get the "pure shooter" moniker.

I don't know how Scott but I suspect you are correct since I believe he is at his 4th school (his major must be Domestic Travel).

Zuby and Luis, however, did not enter the portal and are not here for NIL. Both have strong family support systems. Both love it here. Both (and their parents) believe this is the best place for them to learn and improve (in and out of the class room).

Let's not reduce every kid as going after the biggest NIL deal. Pitino sells the long game, kids who stay take a discount on what they could make somewhere else.

And man how those two have improved!

Beast you are way off on Scott. Played all three prior years with North Texas State in A10.

Agree totally. And the decrease in Wilcher's minutes is worrisome. Down to 23 mpg. He's too good for that. P.S. Stories going around that staff wanted Smith back in and Pitino refused and another story that after landing at the airport, Smith refused to get on the team bus.
Here we go.

No, they were far from wide open and uncontested, They were bad shots simply because they weren’t that. This kid is a pretty good player, far from great but pretty good, and far from the defensive liability or dead eye shooter so many insist he is with the former and expect with the latter.

Just a slight correction since its in my neck of the woods, it’s University of North Texas from the American Athletic Conference 😀
Thanks Ken. Typing too early in the morning, just wanted to make it clear my guy Scott isn’t a carpetbagger lol.

Respectfully, go look at the game tape again. I beg to differ.

How could the best player in the Big East, or thereabouts, and the ultimate portal prize have a drop-off as significant as you suggest in a mere matter of months?
That’s what’s so bizarre. if you were to watch a replay of the seton Hall game last year where the Johnnies were blown out, Kadary looked like a completely different player. He is no where near what he was last year and in prior years.

Wilcher has not done anything to justify more time. He was terrible last three games and he is not a pg. why Smith did not play last half is a mystery to me.
Agree, he is not just weak with the ball but weak period and shoved around by opponents. His contributions in the Baylor, New Mexico and Georgia games were few and Pitino is starting to see that. The problem is, with Kadarys game going down hill he better come up with another guard fast. Perhaps Glover with a little work?

I thought they were wide open too, but Rick said they were contested and he rushed them.
I turned it on about 9 minutes in so might have missed his first two. I do remember him taking one quick shot that was kind of forced but also clanging a wide open three during our late comeback that would have been huge if he made it. In no way is it time to give up on Brady or Sim though, there'll have plenty of good moments this year.

Let’s not be naive, the problem with losing to Georgia is this. When selection Sunday arrives and the at large bids are being decided the Power Five guys on the committee may be pointing out that sure, the Johnnies have have had a decent Big East record but how did they perform against a middle of the SEC pack Georgia team? That’s why the SEC deserve 7 bids and the Big East three.

Ridiculous uninformed post

Hope Smith thing not true but whole situation is confusing to say least. Honestly in his 2 years here Pitino rotations and PT has been bizarre.
Btw for my two cents Smith a better college PG than Richmond. Also considering neither a good shooter and Richmond an actual disaster from the outside, in this day and age don’t think can play both at same time.
