Georgia, Sun., Nov. 24, 11am, CBSSN

We need good wins, no argument from me. Have to be in the top 4 of the league with the wins and record to get there.
Seton Hall finished 4th in the Big East last year, with wins at home over UConn and Marquette. Not good enough to make the Tourney.

The in-conference bar is high without a signature OOC win. We now must win at least one road game against UConn, Marq, Creighton or whoever else is in the top 3 of the league and win most of the home games against them. We went 1-5 against that top group last year. Quantum improvement is required.

On a positive note, it is amazing that Zuby to date this year is averaging only 2 fouls a game. My fear was he would spend a lot of time on bench in foul trouble, but he has been disciplined to date avoiding reach ins, silly fouls. Hopefully that will continue in BE play. As an aside, I hope they give Prey some decent minutes in remaining ooc games, imo he could really help us.

More minutes for both Vince and Prey are essential. I like Zuby but I do not think his load is sustainable and I think the other bigs offer tools he doesn't have

Damaging result today knowing the emphasis of importance on OOC games against power leagues. Just couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean. With the exception of Zuby, everyone else seemed comatose.

Even Smith, who is vital to our offense, had 2 bad turnovers (although official stat sheet only credited him with one). He seemed out of it, shots not falling, unaware of the shot clock on one possession and off an inbounds pass running up court taking his eye off the ball. Moving forward we need him out there considering Kadary’s shaky handle and Sim being more of 2G.

The season is not over by any means. Kansas State looms large and we’ll have atleast 8 Q1 games in conference. This group does not seem like a team that will fold. Lots of basketball ahead, just have to learn from our shortcomings.

So Pitino scheduled Georgia in the Bahamas after playing 2 games in 3 days thinking it was going to benefit our OOC schedule. What a kick in the ass this decision turned out to be.

I just looked at the box score for the first time today and seen that Zuby made 12-13 on FTs
He couldn't have made 1-2 vs. Baylor in double OT.
These guys are not robots, they miss foul shots. The fact that he hit 12-13 today and 2-2 yesterday tells you all you need to know about Zuby and how he came back from those misses. He is the very least of our problems.

Didn't see the postgame presser but I sure hope Zach asked him about not playing Smith and that would not be a stupid question, it's one we all would have asked if we could.

I don't think we're in any danger of missing the tournament unless multiple important guys get hurt and/or there's a team mutiny against each other or the staff. But our probable range of outcomes in terms of seeding shifted in the wrong direction bigtime on this trip

Scary thing for me is if we are waiting on Richmond, we are in trouble. Not saying anything drastic, just he needs to be a complinentary player, not a focal point. If we are waiting for him to be the best player on this team, then we will be playing in NIT, assuming Pitino is ok playing in that tournament.

Instead of waiting for Richmond to shoot better(anything is possible but he is in his 5th year of college and is like 30), be more athletic at the rim(again generally don’t get more athletic in mid 20’s) and less turnover prone(THIS HAS TO HAPPEN). Rick needs to adjust to having him in a lesser role to Zuby, Luis, Scott and Smith.

Listen, Kadary clearly not as good as we all expected. It happens, my issue is his turnovers seem to be of lazy variety as opposed to from being aggressive. Also seems to have an extremely low motor. Like a lawnmower motor.
