Who wouldn't want bucketshardy in their foxhole in a war. Especially since he will bring beers too

Maddening to see the amount of times the ball just slips out of the hands of players (particularly guards). Been noticing this all year, it’s kinda bizarre. Also couldn’t hit water if we fell out of a boat today.

It sucked on all levels but this season won’t be defined by a rock fight loss at 11 AM in the Caribbean. Wouldn’t surprise me to see them rattle off 7-8 straight wins from here.

Easy to say now, and I didn’t say it ahead of time but this was not smart scheduling. Folks I talked to yesterday from Tennessee were very surprised we had a game this morning. I am not the type to project the future based on the past, or honestly to project it at all. Except to say it is November.

There was no energy in the building, only a fraction of the SJU fans that were there for the first two games attended. We couldn’t cheer even when we wanted to as Atlantis was constantly blaring music at levels we could not exceed.

And they played badly, they deserved to lose, and they lost. Even if they had won it felt like a waste of money when those of us down here could have been at the beach. A lesson learned.

The season will continue.
Agree completely with you.

Just finished watching in dvr. Very disappointing. You can’t lose to a team that fouls out 3 starters and who turned the ball over about 25 times. Putrid first half followed by shoddy second half. My takes, fwiw:

I don’t get KR. Either he’s not the same player this year or we’ll soon hear “ he’s playing hurt”. Very inconsistent. Very sloppy with the ball. And what’s with every free throw off the front end? So far, not impressed. Gas had 1 good game.

Love Scott but his 3 point shooting today killed us. Does a lot of good things. Off night.

RJ takes as much as he gives at least today.

Their guards too often had easy lanes to the basket. Our guards missed a lot of bunnies again and were pretty weak to the basket.

They out toughed and out bullied us.

No one seemed to want to step up. Need someone to be a leader on the court. I think it has to be Smith but he has to be on The court and he has to want it.

If Brady can’t hit any of the wide open 3s he had today (at least 4) he has no business being out these as much. Yeah he has energy and does some good things but those empty trips are killers.

Zuby was terrific and we wasted his effort.

No burn for Prey. I think he would have helped Zuby with rebounding.

It’s a long season but 1-2 down there is a disappointment. The resume building exercise hadn’t worked out. Luckily a majority of conference games will be quad 1 or 2.

What do you mean by fine? Where are our signature wins coming from now? Our opportunities are limited now. I don’t know if Creighton will stay ranked as they got beat at home by Nebraska this weekend. Maybe Xavier winds up ranked. But basically you’re talking about UConn and Marquette now that’s it. That’s four games of which we’ll probably have to go 3-1 in now and have 13 or 14 wins in conference to not be on the bubble at the end of the season. That’s a tough hill to climb.
Were we going to call Georgia a "signature win"? Yeah, the Baylor game would have been huge. We'll have some tough challenges in the Big East. We'll win some of those. I'll save my panic until Feb.

7 or 8 straight against who??? That’s the problem. Beating the next 7 or 8 teams are games we should win. The only game in the next 7 or 8 that might help us on selection Sunday if we win is at Creighton and that’s only if they are still ranked. Harvard, Delaware, DePaul, Butler, Providence are all games that hurt us if we lose but don’t really help us selection Sunday if we win because we’re expected to win them. You can add K-State into that mix also.

So your metric is winning the games we should win doesn't mean anything so if we go, say, 22-8 that's a disaster?

Georgia will finish in the top half of the SEC , a conference that will probably get 10 NCAA Bids. So, while Georgia might not be your normal signature win , it would probably have been a win against a team that makes the NCAA Tournament. That was our problem last year at the end of the season. We only had one win last year against an NCAA Tournament team and that was Creighton at home. We need wins against teams that will make the tournament. The committee is big on that. Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins.

Lawman, that’s what we were last year basically. But, you need Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins. Number of wins wasn’t the problem last year it was the lack of quality wins. That’s what I’m saying. Yes, you have to win as many games as possible but if we win all the rest of our games except we go 2-6 against Creighton , Xavier , Marquette and UConn with wins over Creighton at home and Xavier at home , we’ll be 22-8 but that’s a weak 22-8 in the eyes of the committee. It’s who you beat and where you beat them just as much or more than number of wins in the aggregate.

Exactly, would take the Marquette sample over what Rick’s doing any time. Developing young talented kids and getting them to stay yields consistency and builds a program. Unfortunately our staff didn’t bring in HS kids this year and the two soohs we have, Wilcher and Dunlap don’t look to be strong contributors in the near future.

20-13, 11-9 last year

Terribly disappointing showing. But I won’t sway 180 degrees from everyone on the board feeling fantastic about this team and their chances after Friday night. Bad games happen, this one really hurts us. If we are good enough to challenge for the top of the big east then we will be good enough to challenge for the top of the BE. In that case we will be a tourney team, if we don’t then we won’t be.
Bingo,..This is bad loss against an inferior team that will have multiple 20 point losses this year…my cursing sent my wife upstairs early on a Sunday but we will be back in top 20

And, this was a rinky dink tourney from the facilities , hand towels to dry the Court and disappointing to lose 2 of 3 games .

We lost 2 games that we could have won but , didn’t . Virginia is a weak ACC Team this year so that didn’t help offset these losses.

Rough tumble out of top 25,surely coming .

I understand Lawman. Mark my words, if we have a good record but not enough quality wins the committee will pass us over as they did last year. We need to go 5-3 against Creighton, Xavier, Marquette and UConn. With wins over each of them , sweeping one , and avoid anymore bad losses.
