Win out and yeah!!“Our goal is to be a #1 seed [In the NCAAs]”
- Rick in the postgame
Fun fact: The stress from rooting for this team for decades had made espken completely bald, but this miraculous season has made his scalp completely regenerate.Took in the game with Redmen.com originals Golden Leaf and DC Redmen. Pat was/is a legend on the many different iterations of this site. Reminiscing about the good old days with Pat and Ray was priceless. They represent the DMV contingent well.
Fantastic turnout at Irish Channel pregame.
Many diehards supporting our Johnnies, led by the man the myth Caesar himself.
Great win with great friends. Looked for a while we were going to have a 41-9 flashback in our favor.

After our comeback win at msg, the Hoya board thought st John’s was lucky and still not in top tier of the BE. I wonder what they're saying now.
I sprinkled a bit on us preseason making the final four at +950.Pretty much respect from the boneyard in the few posts about this game today.
One post even says they can see us in the final four. Which I happen to agree with.
How good was the defense tonight?I honestly do no tbelieve SJU has played to their full potential. Specifcally offensively.
The defense is absolutely elite.
Those were my Ridgewood Savings Bank keys to the game.We held Sorber to 8 and Peavy to 6, not much more to say about the defense.
I believe someone has already posted that a couple of Rick's final four or better teams were not good from three. What worries me more is the free throw shooting. Kadary is a guy I'd put on the line all day in close games if I was coaching the other team. Zuby is ok but not great from the line, same with Deivon. That hurts in close games. After tonight’s game the studio announcers bring up the usual refrain that SJU will eventually run into trouble becsuse they can’t shoot threes. I’m sure one of these days SJU will shoot 45 per cent or higher from three but does anyone think they will do that over a three or four game span? Extremely unlikely. And that is what it will take in the big east or NCAA tournaments to advance.
Tonight they shoot 60 per cent from two and high twenties from three. At this point of the season that is what this team is. Why not stress limiting three point attempts to ten or twelve and concentrate on moving the ball to get much easier two point attempts.
Has any team using this type of strategy won the NCAA?
Don’t set the bar so low.Go 3-2 in those games and we are golden.
It's not like we'd be doing something never seen before. More like turning the clock back to B.C. -- Before Curry.Has any team using this type of strategy won the NCAA?
I think they're stuck up on shutup. After our comeback win at msg, the Hoya board thought st John’s was lucky and still not in top tier of the BE. I wonder what they're saying now.
Wilcher is the guy for close gamesI believe someone has already posted that a couple of Rick's final four or better teams were not good from three. What worries me more is the free throw shooting. As long as he doesn't lose it in trafficWilcher is the guy for close games
Sure Wilcher and Scott are the guys you want on the line but those are not the guys the other team will foul and Kadary has the ball in his hands a lot so easy target; just has to shoot better than 50%Wilcher is the guy for close games
