The best thing for the Big East is to have St. John’s, Villanova, Georgetown and DePaul be very good. Those are our four biggest markets. UConn has a national brand at this point so them also.

I understand your premise, and agree with the first three schools, but I disagree about DePaul. While they may be in the #3 media market, they have never given anything of value to the Big East.

The Big East was and always will be one of the preeminent basketball conferences and none of that hinges on DePaul.

They’ve never given anything because they haven’t been good since joining. If they somehow get back to the Ray and Joey Meyer level they will add a lot of value.

That’s my point. They have stunk and we were even discussing if it DePaul was a detriment to the Big East and should be dropped.

And Ray and Joey Meyer? That was a very long time ago. DePaul makes SJU look like a blue blood.
